I signed up for this forum because speedruns have fascinated for many years and I finally want to give it a try myself.
Unfortunately, the games I am interested in the most are probably also the ones with the most competition (Mario Bros 1, 3, Mario 64, OoT, etc.)
So I wanted to catch up with all the old crazy discussions here about those games in order to understand the routes and glitches better, but... where are they?
I expected games like Mario 64 to have threads with hundreds of pages. Narcissa Wright, back then Cosmo, mentioned in the OoT run at AGDQ 2013 they had threads about OoT at the SDA forums that were hundreds of pages long.
But where? Was there a new forum at some time and the old threads are gone? Where threads deleted?

Borderlands 2 Glitch Hunter/ router.
if you put the game name into the search box at the top right of the page then untick "search post content" (otherwise you'll get search results for every time that game is mentioned) it will show you the topics that have that game name in the title.

That's the easiest method and they should all be there.

Hope that helps.
Oh yeah, I found a long OoT thread now.
But I kind of expected to find more about the Mario games. There are barely any posts about Mario Bros. 3.
Within the last year there were exactly 4 posts about Super Mario 64.
Since those games are always the highlights of many viewers at AGDQ I thought there might be more people discussing those games here.

I can't speak for old threads and what not on here, but the forums here on SDA as a whole have become less active over the recent years for a variety of reasons.  If you're looking for recent information on games, there are more up to date sources you can check.  It also could just be that a certain game had a smallish community that did most of their discussion on a site that is not SDA.

For OOT for example, a lot of runners primarily use YouTube and Twitter to post videos of new glitches/setups or route ideas.  There is also ZeldaSpeedruns.com has tons of information on the glitches of the game as well as some routes (they also have forums, but those have slowed down too).  You can check the LBs for other runs and you can watch them to learn the most up to date route (but routes are changing as of recent due to rule changes, long story) but that's your best place to start.

For Mario games, I'm not a part of those communities but I'd imagine a good place to start would be the Mario pages on Speedrun.com to watch runs and check for any guides/resources they have posted.  As always, asking a runner where you can learn is a good option since most runners are always open to pointing new runners in the right direction.

I have no clue about SM64 since I don't care at all about the game, but SMB1 has a pretty nice thread that keeps getting active every now and again. Remind yourself that it would always take someone to start an SDA thread so there are probably a significant number of games on the game list that don't have their thread. Especially SM64 is one I really can't remember seeing here a lot, so …
