I have a USB capture device, Dazzle 80, which has both composite and S-video inputs, as well as the 2 audio inputs. I've been using it to capture video from GameCube for quite a while, and it works perfectly fine when the video is captured from a tape with video that was previously recorded from a GameCube game. However, when I try to capture from a tape with video recorded from an N64 game, it captures no frames whatsoever, and even when I set it to preview in Virtualdub, I don't even see anything. I figured it was just my device that didn't seem to support video from N64, so I borrow my friend's PCI capture device (not a video card, just a capture card), and still the same thing happens - once I hit play on the VCR, I don't see any video, nor any frames are captured. I am using a composite video cable to connect it to these capure devices. I have tried audio alone, and that seems to work fine. What is the reason for the differences between N64 and GC video when both are recorded on a regular VHS tape? I play the N64 video back onto a TV and it's fine. But I cannot capture it. Is there any way to do so with my capabilities?
