fascinating. thanks for pointing that out to me. i never thought to make it translate links to smf's "new post in this topic" pages. snow, you can go ahead and change the link, but i'm going to fix it in the next version of tf anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
Now that I've gotten the hang of anri-chan, I realize it's an amazing little program. I think my problem previously was using the old version suggested by the encoding-from-DVD faq by RaneofSOTN. Though, after inputting d1 and f2, the text afterwards says I am playing a 2d game (though sometime later it does say 3D, but this was still confusing for me the first time). Also, I tried to update the games database through anri-chan, but the webpage could not be found, that way. I'll just enter it manually. EDIT: err, I can't? I suppose I need to create an account or something, right?
are you saying yes to the question that asks if you want to contribute the values or whatever? if so that's known, i just forgot to fix it when i was fixing bugs with the forum software yesterday.
also what do you mean by old version linked from rane's guide? it seems like that page just links to the main download page which has the current version and all the old versions.
if you're trying to edit the kb then yes you have to make an account. sorry, spambot vandalism got out of hand.
edit: just pushed out the fix for that broken link.
RaneofSOTN's guide, Introduction: "This procedure involves taking a DVD-disc, pulling the digital video media off of it. Then using the video in a simple program designed to use more advanced programs and scripts to properly encode that digital video media into a standardized output. This guide uses Anri-chan 3 Beta 4. " When I used this version, an error would occur whenever I'd go beyond the low quality version. (Though, I just had a new problem where I chose to only encode the X-TREME version, and in like two seconds it claimed it was done when it obviously wasn't)
No worries, I'll just make an account soon and update the game database.
bleh, it's hard to really change that without potentially causing even more confusion, since there may be differences between the current version and that version that make the guide more difficult to follow.
i *believe* for game boy player stuff you always say d4 f1 2d and then say yes to the "gba/gbp?" question. that should crop it properly and everything. let us know if not.
I'm planning to do a speedrun for a PS2 game Vampire Panic (JPN). Here is the sample file I created with Anri-chan, following RaneofSOTN's guide. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LOBU701N
