Has anyone noticed this effect before? Discharge while holding the jump button and floating at the surface, it'll instantly teleport you to the bottom of the pool. The effect is much more powerful than from a normal discharge.

Attached (I hope) is a demo showing the effect on the glorious map "evilpool".

Seems like what matters is whether you are above the surface or not when you discharge.

For example, jumping into a water with the shaft going will send you farther down than firing the shaft after you break the surface.

It must have been done randomly before, but at least I haven't noticed the distinct difference before.

Yeah I think I have experienced it, but I really can't offer any explanation for it. Perusing the source isn't helping.

It seems one needs a lot of cells to do that trick. I tested it a while ago and I think (sorry I'm drunk, won't test it now :)) 50 cells fired at the surface makes you go deeper than discharged underwater. With quad you don't need that much.
