Mmm... Anime...
To say a bit about myself, I'm a fan of speed runs, and well, I suppose people here could help me with this, considering they work with video, comp and TV stuff. I want my TV to act as a monitor, so I can watch all of my runs and anime on there. Cheesy

How is this actually done? This is what I'm doing, and it doesn't seem to work...

S-video output from my GForce 5700 >>> Video(yellow) RCA end >>> adapter (to lenghen the cable's distance/lengh) >>> single RCA cable from adapter to the TV.

I'm pretty sure I'm just messing something up on the video card's config... Each time I try something, the graphics mess up and the likes, and I end up restarting on Safe mode. :-/

Also, does it need to be connected directly into the TV's video input? Because I'm plugging it in on one of those multi-console boxes where you hit the buttons and it switches audio/video between consoles. Thanks!

For some devices to work you need to switch the laptop/computer monitor off. This is done by a combination of keys I can't remember right now (something like function+F5 on HP, Dell and Sony laptops, I think). I almost went crazy with a projector once, a long time ago, before I realized this.
