Intrested Quake Player Striving to be Recognized

I am not sure if anyone here plays quakeworld but I think most of the people here are intrested in tricks.

I recently made a jump on dm3 which I think may be one of the hardest and COOLEST tricks ever performed in quake.

The demo pack comes with some more cool tricks and stunts which are mainly there for fun for people to enjoy.

The trick is on dm3. Jumping from the high bridge ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE ROOM OVER THE WATER INTO THE RL BOX. The trick is scritcly a JUMP, not a Rocket Jump. I travel at 970 speed to make the jump and it took hours and hours over years to finally get this trick.

I do play QW..or I used to play for 6 years. now I havent played in a while due to school/work & other commitments.

The trick you did is quite amazing and I'm sure it took LONG time to do it. But I have done that before =) ofcourse that does NOT diminish your trick, it's awesome!

Here is what happened:

BUT, I did it in 4on4 clan war.. and I think, NO, I'm sure I got some help.. someone must have shot me with a boomstick or someting Smiley

I made a rocket jump in yellow armor area to gain some speed and to get into RL room as fast as possible (it was about to reappear and ofcourse I want to ensure out opponent doesn't get RL)

I noticed an enemy in the place where it's possible to jump in rl room with only one bunny, like you do in one of your 'fun' demos. So, because my brains work pretty fast (ehehe Wink

I decided not to try the bunny jump with enemy disturbing me. I might have fallen to water and my opponent would get a chace to grap the rl and possibly cause some harm to my team.

so I went right and aimed to the RL stairs (I still have the speed from YA area rocket jump). I jumped from about the same place you did and, again, my brains working fast I noticed in the air that wow I'm going fast! So for some strange reason I decided to try the direct jump to RL room. And I did it. To my own, and eveyone else's amazement I found myself from RL room. I was stunned for a while.. one of the most memorable moments in my WQ "career" Smiley

that momen still comes to my dreams sometimes Wink

Before this I didnt know if it's possible or not. I had thought of it many times, but never really bothered to try it out more than a few times. I got close but I never got it right, until in that 4on4 clan war. Sadly I Dont record my matched.. And neither did anyone else who saw it. I tried to ask from eveyone who saw it from their screens but I couldy track anyone down who recorded it Sad

sadly. after that I tried to do it for a few hours but never managed to do it.

I know I had to get some help from someone to do it, but I didnt get much damage so it must have been only a boomstick. it could not have been a rocket because firstly: none of our opponentd had RL, and why would my own team-mates shoot at me with RL? Smiley

secondly: I really didnt get enough damage for it ti be rocket. Even rl splash would do more damage than what I got. Thirdly: I want to believe It was only a boomstick =)

But just think how eveything must go perfectly for that to happen. I think it was pretty amazing. one in a million Wink

I hope you get the idea how it happened.. god damn it would be cool to have a demo of it! during combat, enemy's trying to kill me I jump that kinda jump. It was amazing Smiley

That was one of the most exciting articles to read!!

I also wish i had a demo to see it.

My jump required 950 speed minimum (from countless attempts i determined that was needed) and in my demo i managed to pull of a 970 speed jump.

You talk about a single rocket jump than a small aid. The rocket jump lets say was 700. The shotgun blast 18-24 dmg must ahve given you a nice boost of speed and positioning.

And the fact that it was in game makes it one of the best quake stories ever.

I rember in the past looking on line for game-reports and stuff where people descirbe moments in memorable games. This story almost makes me want to start a databease filled with stories like this.

Quakeworld.nu had a topic in their forums FUNNIEST QUAKE MOMENTS. One was a guy who killed his entire team trying to kill somone with the ring of shadows (who was on their own team). And countless more things like quad self-destruction and devestating their teammates!

lol THAT isn't a flame, he just made a claim about himself .. never said anything bad about you, or said it in a harmful way.

of course with no demo we dont have to believe him at all.

if you want to see random nonsense and more flame like behaviour, read some of "phil"s posts.

phil flames me constantly. CONSTANTLY.

But on CHTV it seems that he gives me good comments so I can't complain. And seeing as he created the ISC i can't be mad at him. Grin

also it doesn't matter how or what a person does to make your life nice, if they are a fuckhead that overwrites any good stuff
