I'll do test runs just as soon as I get a plan done =P. I'm kinda disappointed at the lack of interest in the run, but if all here (all three of you =P) agree that the glitch is fine then I'll go ahead and plan for it.

Make that 4  Wink

I've played Tony 4, but found it to be more annoying than the other games.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I'd like to see a THPS4 run... not too happy about the glitch though, as long as it isn't abused like crazy I'll probably watch it.
Of course it would be nicer to see him perform some nice lines (Thus including air tricks and stuff), but on the other hand if it's easier to use the glitch to get higher scores faster then why not?
It's a Speedrun isn't it? Smiley

I think Hexrapper should decide himself if he wants to use the glitch.

Do you think it would be easier to track down all of the goals in a level first and then start actually doing them or just complete them as you find them?

The way I would set up planning is that I'd just skate to the goals in a pre-constructed order that makes goal completion optimal (for example; Jamie Thomas' 40,000 high-score goal, an 'open' goal, could allow me to combo my way over to the frat-boys goal, where I'd land the combo, complete the goal, then be right by another goal to go into right away). It isn't possible to jump right into goals from the 'View Goals' menu in Hawk 4, either.

Thanks for the interest and luck, Jameslikesme =)

I've played Tony 4, but found it to be more annoying than the other games.

It's was a pretty 'big' (I don't want to outright say 'big' because the soon following THUG2 game was a bigger turn) turn in the franchise, making everything open-ended but at the same time restricting what goals can be done at what time. It was also known as one of the more difficult Hawk games, though that was generally said of the harder goals unlocked after completing the pro goal (which is where I plan on playing up to).

I'd like to see a THPS4 run... not too happy about the glitch though, as long as it isn't abused like crazy I'll probably watch it.

And here is where the problem with the glitch is. I'd love to do neat, fancy lines as much as you guys would probably like to see them, but at the same time it's actually faster to just do the glitch than to stylishly thrash my way about the level. Most points goals don't even ask for much points anyhow - IIRC, all the 'normal' goals keep the points below 750,000 - which means that the stylish combo, if used, couldn't be an exstensive one anyway.

Of course, the reason why I asked in the first place was because I didn't know if the glitch would break the game too much =P. So I take it that's one count against the glitch. If we can all generally agree then on using the glitch, but in instances where the speed-increase is very evident (and not in a situation where it'd likely irk the viewer) only, then I'll get planning either in an hour or two, or when I get home from work (just a five hour shift from 3 - 8 today; yay! =D).

The more I think of it though, the more I think that a clean run would just look cooler overall >.>. Do you guys think that the lost time because of the lack of glitch usage is worth it for better display? I can't make my mind up about this one >_<. I just want something that'll please the majority =P

TheVoid: If I had my way, I'd have two seperate catagories for glitch-usage and non-glitching =P. Is that actually a possibility?
I'm not sure if it would be categorized as 2 categories Smiley

Maybe only use the glitch in situations where it would be REALLY helpful (I mean that if you would do it without the glitch it would take much longer or something...), if there are any such goals Smiley

Someone else has any opinion about this?

I have no solution, but i admire the problem.
Well, either you use the glitch all the time, or never. You can't say "I'll use the glitch here and there, but on certain points, it doesn't look cool to use the glitch even if it's faster".

I think glitch and non-glitch would be separate categories, too. If i were you, i'd try to do your best without the glitch. The point is: You're the only one who knows the glitch, and even if others would find that out, they probably wouldn't take all that work and try to redo your run just with the glitch.

It's your choice.. but please do this somehow! If you drop the run, i'll do it :p

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I just played through this game in about 2-3 days and managed to get $100,000 cash again. It was pretty fun (for the most part) and I think a 100% run would be really cool sometime in the future. I might do one next summer or something. It'd probably be segmented by level, just because some of the gaps can be very frustrating to do, and I suck at some of the skater's individual pro challenges. Anyway, just a thought for like 9 months down the road, lol.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize how annoying it could get. Lets watch rhinos crash into each other multiple times, and the girl slapping mini-game could take awhile to get the cash.

All else aside, it'd just be cool to plan routes for going through each level getting cash and gaps while doing the goals.

Good luck on this run, though! I look forward to it with or without the glitch.

I think I'll be doing a non-glitch any % SS with CAS to start off with (and then a run with the glitch after). I haven't been able to get much done because of the starting of school again and all that, and I won't be able to get anything done tonight (with work, I have like one hour of free time which will pretty much go all to homework), but tomorrow morning I have first class off, so I don't need to be at school 'till 9:30 and I wake up at 6:30, so there's some time there and after school. Plan sould be roughly done tomorrow, in other words. I'll refine it over the weekend, then share it with you guys for input.

EDIT: Also, Sorcerer, I said how to do the glitch on the previous page.
I know it's weird bumping a thread 10 years ago, but I would love to see a 100% run on this game. I know Georgie said a 100% wouldn't be entertaining but that's his opinion. I would like to see someone give it a shot!
