Remember that 9.6 early exit that some people had happen and weren't sure how? I just found a consistent strat for it that completely destroys that level. This level is quite long and used to take around 2 minutes to complete. With this strat it takes less than 30 seconds, which is a huge time save, making current times obsolete.

I also improved levels 9.1 and 9.4 based on this skip.

47:11 on the first run since I discovered this. Just watch those 3 levels. Wasn't a very good run apart from those.

Just watched those levels.  Crazy that the glitch works in that way.  It seems like if two blocks pass through a portal quickly enough, it "adds one" completed portal to the total (or something like that).  Thomas is finally "broken", albeit on three levels.  Just for clarification, was this run on high or low settings?

What I was originally testing on 9.6 was to get them all to their portals but using just one of team jump to satisfy the two portals that are right next to each other, like we used to do in 9.1. First attempt was successful, and when I tried it again, I got the early exit at a random time, which was weird for me since it was the first time I had experienced it. This kept happening repeatedly and eventually figured out how to actually trigger it. No idea why the level actually ends though. Considering that we have seen this glitch occur under different circumstances in 9.6, there might also be something else that causes it. Just something to keep in mind, maybe it could help on other levels.

The run was on high settings. I always specify in the title or somewhere when playing on low. I haven't checked whether it works differently on low settings but it should be fine, since the old way of doing 9.1 used to work anyway on low.

Right now this glitch it only works with team jump because of how each of them can use any portal. Tried finding a way to trigger it on 9.2 and 9.8 as well, but since there are no stacked portals I wasn't successful in doing so.

Finally managed to get a decent time on high settings - 46:38

This was actually a monster run that was on pace to be even sub 46, but then I messed up badly on the last two splits. Lost 17 seconds on 8 and I could have made up more than 20 seconds on 9.

45:25 high settings. Just had this monster run that smashed my old time by a minute. Very few minor mistakes after a not so good start. This run is only 15 seconds slower than my sum of best segments, so it's going to be very difficult to take it lower. I wasn't even expecting a time under 45:30 anytime soon, considering I haven't even gone that low on low settings.

Benjamin's Flight DLC will be released today on Steam. Will be playing and routing it as soon as the update goes live.

10:20 - levels are not too difficult to optimise since there aren't many characters. 11.1 seems to be the hardest level but at least I have the best solution for it (I spent a long time on it trying everything imaginable). There is also a better solution in 11.10 than what I do in this run, which is going left instead of right after reaching the checkpoints. The final time with good execution will probably be around 9:00.

9:59 - better 11.10

In the current build, the game does not continue to the new levels after finishing 9.10, so that can create confusion as to where the game actually ends. I will definitely be doing full game runs though.

After playing more today I noticed another issue. The game just seems slower than it was. I am consistently more than 2 seconds slower in the first 10 levels, but the game still feels exactly the same to me. Maybe it has slightly longer loading times. Will test this out more later.
This is one of my favourite games and I was looking for something to start running and I think I may have just found my game. Until I've got a set up that can stream all my runs will be more for fun. But yeah, hope to have a time for you soon.

Also out of curiosity does anyone do an AllCollectables% run? And how much of a pain would it be to get them back in if you've already got them all? (I apologise for how super noob this all probably sounds.)
Would be great to have someone new running this.

I considered doing a run that includes getting all achievement pickups but there really isn't a good way to reset them, at least not without modifying game files.
hey there guys, just wanted to say that I plan on trying to run this game. I think I'll star just learning the levels before I do a run. also I do not have a way to record/stream because my computer sucks so I will only have times for you Tongue
Hey Tovar, out of curiosity do you use a controller or a keyboard?

that would be a good idea, yes.

I had also considered it back when I started.  as previously mentioned, you'd have to mess with your steam achievements with every reset, but I also feel like it wouldn't add all that much of a change.  it's been a while since I got them, but if I remember correctly, it would probably only add a couple minutes to the final time.

I know you didn't ask me, but for what it's worth, I used a PS3 controller and switched between characters with L1 and R1.  it would be advantageous to switch characters using a numpad, but I just felt much more comfortable with controller.

Yeah I also use a controller. Keyboard has the advantage that you can switch to any character, but that would only be useful in very few levels because I have optimised character switching in each level so it doesn't waste too much time in comparison. The reason why I think keyboard is bad for this game is due to the way jumping works, where jumps are longer/higher if you hold down the jump button. I just think it's easier to control jump size using a controller to avoid overjumping. If you're also planning to do the DLC levels, I think the jetpack will be more annoying to control using a keyboard.

I did a run using keyboard some time ago just for fun without any practice and got a 53:19. If I practiced and learned the run using keyboard, I think I can definitely get sub 48, but I doubt I would be able to beat my actual PB.
Here's a very risky way to complete 5.10 that saves 4 seconds over doing it as usual. I'm not sure if it's viable to use in actual runs though since it's very easy to fail. At the moment I can only do it successfully around 1 in 5 times.

I think I had played around with something similar. It's just holding Right while switching between them at a certain rhythm, right? definitely just seems like an IL strat.
Glad to see you're still playing.
I took a couple of months off from running anything. Will be playing regularly again now, going for that sub 45.

The first couple of switches have longer intervals since they are still accelerating, which is what makes it difficult. If you don't get those right then everything falls apart. Sometimes after the mid part where you have to descend I have also been getting the super acceleration glitch which ruins things as well.
