Seriously, these are awesome. If you didn't get to experience the first marathon then it's a great look at what really happened behind the scenes (though why wasn't tri-hex helping out with moving stuff???), and if you did it's a great nostalgia trip.

My feelings on The Demon Rush
I like these two quotes.

"MAJOR PLOT TWIST" - Frezy_Man: "We can't fit 10 people down there now."

"Very Hungry Dude!" - me: "Upload pictures, commentary unnecessary"

WHERE ARE THE PICTURES TRI-HEX!

I'd forgotten how much time we spent setting up for one minute of Kung-Fu.

Ahhk! GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! I WAS GONNA PROVIDE BAD-ASS (Waaayyy more detailed) COMMENTARY!!! >_>;

No biggie, I suck at being prompt and stuff. Sad

Promise I'll stop giving a shit about "presentation" and just dump it on YouTube shortly after next year.

You still have those pictures, right, Tri???!!!

That was really disappointing for a Tri-hex post.

Yeah, but I recorded way more video than pictures. I'll upload them for everyone when I wake up tomorrow.

Because it wasn't over the top? Smiley

Honestly, my interbutts was tripping at the time, I didn't think that post posted. I didn't check back to insure because I've been busier than usual with holiday hours kicking in (Got back from Fable 3/Force Unleashed 2/Rock Band 3/Wrastlin' 2011 midnight launch). In fact, my copy of Epic Yarn is still sitting beside me still sealed. =\

That was satisfactory post, but actually, I had another question. Why did you make a separate account for these videos? Did you want to make sure we would never find them? You were almost successful, but somehow Vorpaledge knew about the account.

Yeah, the separate account was to make sure it wouldn't be found easily. Fun fact: the name of the account is my Xbox Live Tag "lololololozzzzz" if anyone ever wants to friend me. In retrospect, I'm kindda surprised at how detailed I made the comments for each video, but I did have notes lying around from some Word document that went into much further detail than the YouTube quickies that I was going to eventually assemble into an awesome montage before the 2011 Marathon.

Most of the work came from bothering to make everything extra pretty and manually editing all the embedded URLs for the videos into YaBB-friendly code (it's pretty headache-inducing when doing it for, like, 20-30 videos that weren't uploaded in chronological order). Looking at all now though, with Taiga out and everything, all that hard work would've been waste.

Glad everyone has enjoyed the videos. I do plan to take just as many videos and photos (sharing those soon) at 2011 Marathon.

Oh, and Vorpal, how did you find those videos BTW? I didn't really make it easy: no meta data, no views, nothing associated with SDA other than "SDA" being mentioned in some of the video's comments.

I don't know!  I was linked by someone once and remembered that "trihex has videos on youtube", and then it took me 10 minutes to find them again.  Only thing that worked was searching sda magfest on youtube.  I might check my logs sometime.

I found them, Tri Hex. I was doing a random Google search for SDA marathon and I think I found it then. I posted the link on iRC.

The same reason I didn't link the videos I took from the 2009 SDA-get-together on the forum: I wanted to have a stellar first-impression that was loaded with commentary and random trivia I assembled over the trip that wouldn't have been obvious with just viewing the videos alone.

But yeah, I frustrated everyone way more by not ever getting around to it and just procrastinating for months (correction: years). Sorry. Sad

That's the thing, tri-hex.  You got yourself so large a project you wanted to accomplish, but you were so busy you never got around to finishing it.

Maybe do smaller bite-sized chunks next time?

OMG, that applies to iike, sooooooooooo many things both IRL and in relation to the "limbo" status I've been in at SDA since 2007 it's pathetic.

But I hear you tjp. Less ambition, more execution. =\
