I was just reading the page with The Legend of Zelda run on it, and the brief description at the top of the screen says it was released in 1987, yet the screenshot right below it says 1986.  Is this a mistake, or was the copyright given in 1986 and the game actually released in 1987?  Just curious, I don't really know a lot about release dates.  It kind of looked funny, though, because the title screen of the game seems to be contradicting the summary.
Thread title:

86 in japan, 87 in the US... and I tend to stick with US release dates.
Fucking Weeaboo
Zelda no Densetsu Nintendo 02/21/86 JP
The Legend of Zelda Nintendo 1987 NA
The Legend of Zelda Nintendo 11/15/87 EU

If you want to know release dates for most games, check out GameFAQs.  Though most people don't know the Japanese names of Zelda 1 & 2...for some reason they were listed separate, even though usually different country releases are listed together...

Ah, that makes sense.  Thanks.

Depends.

February 21st, 1986 - Zeruda no Densestu: The Hyrule Fantasy (Famicom Disk System)
July 1987 - The Legend of ZELDA (Nintendo Entertainement System)
1990 - The Legend of ZELDA Re-release (Nintendo Entertainment System)
1994 - Zeruda no Densetsu: The Hyrule Fantasy (Famicom)
Fucking Weeaboo
Then you have to tack on the rerelease on the GBA, both in Japan and the US, plus who knows how many other versions there probably are... >_>

Is there a source for the month? Everywhere I looked doesn't have one.

1 of the things I really liked about Link, is he is Left handed..

Not too many video game characters are.
Fucking Weeaboo
There were plenty of characters that were.  It just depended on which way they were facing.

Thank you, thank you.  I take paypal.

Donkey Kong Country 2 came just one year after the first. The game is much more challenging and the star is now Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong's sidekick from the first game. Diddy goes on a quest with the latest kong character, Dixie Kong, to rescue the kidnapped Donkey Kong. The game was rereleased for Game Boy Advance in November 2004 with an extra boss, more DK coins and an uglier world map.

He added the re-release info once a run was actually submitted from that platform.  I don't see why it wouldn't be the same if someone submitted a run on the GBA.  But as is, there's no reason to update it to include that info until someone does.
