Would anyone be interested in a run for this game after I get some way to play the Sierra Originals rerelease on my computer?
Thread title:
Heh, I would be interested.

First I wanted to ask, how do you want to speedrun this game? But it could be possible by figuring out some fast, possibly tricky, ways of completing a level. Hmm.

Well anyway, could be nice to see what kind of fast creative solutions you can come up with Wink This is going to be a single-segment or individual level runs?

I was planning to do a single-segment run of all 160 levels after I got my Win2000 computer back. Oh, and does FRAPS/Hypercam work on Windows 2000?

Uhm, I don't know actually, but they probably work Smiley

EDIT: To make this post a bit more useful I've searched on the internet pages about both programs, and yes they're both compatible with Windows 2000 Wink
Yay!  Cheesy

FRAPS only works with programs that use DirectX, I think.  That being said, if this game doesn't apply DirectX, you'll have to use a different recording program.

Ok. I THINK the Sierra Originals release uses DirectX.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I imagine the best way to speedrun TIM would be to try to just minimize the time from starting a contraption to completing it.... not just placing all the pieces down really fast, that'd be rather uninteresting.
DOSBox <3
I think placing the pieces shouldn't be timed - just the time after you start the contraption..
Yeah, I'm also sure that would be the best way.

I definitely gonna watch this run Cheesy
but wow, 160 levels single segment? good luck!

Thanks! Wink From the time I was 3-9, it was my only educational game that was actually fun and wasn't like Math Blaster or something like that. I always used to waste hours on freeform. The funniest thing was to place a house in the middle and those bouncy balls and watch the kid go flying everywhere.

This would definitely be cool to watch.  Watching various, faster ways to solve levels is very interesting.
Yeah, I know. Wink
PwNzRd!
I too fully support this. It would be very enjoyable to watch. Good luck!
Thanks, but this is still a big "maybe", as school is lurking and I still need to organize a place for my computer.

Are there lots of shortcuts? As it only makes real sence if there are.
Well, what do you mean by "shortcuts"?

(faster) ways that beat levels other than the intended way
Yeah, there are a ton.

Which game is this? Can you post a screen or something, I'm not sure which TIM game you mean exactly, from what I heard there's quite a few clones/expansions.
defying gravity
Its the same as the original game, just with more objects and levels.

Unfortunately not available for download
And the Win 95 version has updated graphics.
UPDATE: Got The Incredible Machine 3.0 (win95 version). What version should I use for making an actual run-through?
defying gravity
Isnt that a different game with different levels?
As far as I know, TEMIM includes the original 87 TIM levels + 73 new levels. Are we talking about the same game?
