I tried this again today and might take a shot at a run. For now I'm playing through it again and I'm trying to see how the things work that the other runners have come up with.
First, the two level skips:
Skate Ranch skip is pointless because none of the goals in the Skate Ranch are activated when you do the skip. Beverly Hills skip *potentially* will be a definite use, but the problem is if you do it before you learn all your tricks at the beginning of the game. I decided right after getting the new hair cut and clothes, to go right ahead and do the glitch and get into Beverly. This means I didn't have the manual and whatever others were missing (I can't remember what the other tricks are, manual was only noticeable one so far.)
You get the boneless, spine transfer etc in Beverly so manual probably won't be a huge deal, I can't remember this game very well though so I'll see as I progress through. All the necessary Beverly goals pre-Skate Ranch are perfectly doable without manual anyway. I will however try it again after learning the tricks if down the road on my current run I find I need the manual. Probably there's some goal that needs the manual but we'll see.
Whoever said that if you just do Boone's goal and you get to skip the others is right, after you do the learning goals for the impress goals you just have to do Boone.
Up to the Ranch right now, I haven't been able to find any other useful skips on YouTube for this game but I'll be screwing around with the level barriers in the future to see if there's any way past them like the Beverly and Ranch skips. For now while doing that I'm just gonna replay it and also familiarize myself with the game again. Then afterwards I'll try my first test run.
If anyone else is interested in this or has tips feel free to contribute.
*EDIT* there was a glitch in one of the Tony Hawk games where you could keep "climbing" up a wall by repeatedly getting on and off your board. I can't remember which Hawk game though or how to do it. Is anyone here familiar with this glitch? If it works in THAW it would be extremely useful and would allow one big skip that otherwise requires cheats to accomplish.
I know there's another skip in Beverly Hills to get to Santa Monica early. You need a bank drop, I think. I haven't played it for a while. I know when you get to Santa Monica no one is there, unfortunately, and I'm not sure if it would be possible to finish the game because you don't learn the tricks right before getting into the area, the tricks you learn in the garage. You might be able to mess around with, but i'm not sure. I'll try and get you a video later. Have to get ready for work.
A video would be handy if you had one, although from the sounds of things it wouldn't be usable it'd still be worth checking out.
The skip I'm talking about that needed cheats is this one:
Which would be a pretty big skip since iirc East LA is one of the last levels. Not positive since I haven't played it in a while, but I'm pretty sure.
I tried getting up without cheats by grinding the ledge to the right of the building going towards it, and as I got close enough I hop off and over the gate, wallride to the end of the building where the game bounces you back, then wallride again and try and get high enough to grind the top of the building and hop off and on top of it. That's all theoretical since I haven't been able to get high enough yet, the speed might be too high to be able to hop and land on it. It seems in THAW you can't get off your board in the air, which is a huge pain for this sort of thing because that would make this so much easier.
I've also tried to glitch into the wall that has the barrier shown near the beginning of that video, I can sometimes get the guy like half-way in but he never goes through and it's a pain to constantly line yourself up against the tiny little corner you have to hit. I spent just under an hour doing nothing but tricking into that (plus the one on the other side) and to no avail.
You need to learn up to the manual to complete the game. Because you need to do flatland tricks to get past the cops to go underground (cant remember the name of the place).

All right, then I'll need it at the beginning. I'm going to start over with the playthrough with all the tricks you learn at the beginning before doing the Beverly skip since I'll probably need the revert too, and that's the last trick you learn in Hollywood.
I just recorded a couple videos, one is me trying to do the Downtown LA skip without the cheats while the other is my second test playthrough of the beginning up until getting to Beverly. I did it to get a rough gauge of the time that portion will take as well as to show my progress and for you guys to input feedback if you think I should be doing something differently. I'm in the process of trying to upload them as just a raw DVD rip but I don't know if YouTube takes those lol, it's trying anyway but if it doesn't work then I'll convert. Either way I'll update this post when they're done.
The Downtown skip might be possible without cheats, my first method I don't know that I'll get anywhere because I can't get off-board, but my second method I'm hoping if I can aim the skater over the building then I'll be able to drop through. The problem is that coming out of my acid drop turning to the right angle is tricky. And getting a strong enough acid drop can be tricky in itself. The video will show what I mean when it's done.
The video for Hollywood from main menu up until I hit Beverly is just under five minutes, so considering the time where I'm out of control prior to the game really starting plus my mistakes since it was just my second shot going through, Hollywood will be really short. If I can manage to get the Downtown skip then I'll be doing the run segmented, if I can't and if it turns out that the only skip I use is the Hollywood skip then it'll be single segment. Probably :x
*EDIT* Assuming I timed it right, that rough Hollywood run came out to 02:52:424 from the moment I gained control until the moment I paused. I forgot to save so I could see how long that would be segmented, but at any rate Hollywood is extremely short (although I did get very lucky in this test video, glitching through on the second try. Usually takes much longer. Of course either way when comes time to actually run this I will retry over and over to get it down to hopefully the first try if that's realistic.) I think Beverly pre-Skate Ranch is also sub-5.
Here is the glitch video, it's of my second method of trying to get the glitch to work (giving up on first because you can't get off your board which I think makes it impossible.) - also to note, those are my two closest shots out of many.
just some feedback. Im pretty sure you dont need the revert to beat the game, but it will probably help with some goals so its probably worth getting.
you dont need to ollie when you go for the revert.
Also you will need to get some(all?) of the graffti tagger missions done at some point so it might be worth doing (some of) the ones in the area before you leave.
Nice on getting the glitch so clean. Do you know how high up the invisible wall goes on the building in your glitch video?
