Nothing will ever beat your speedrun, it's great?
I can read your meaning, but I have no idea if it's correct.

'battra' seems to imply physical beating. Wink

Hell yeah, I am too. Heck; I'm Acadian. And to prove it for no apparent reason, I'll quote (although I'm sure I'll make mistakes) This Hour Has 22 Minutes

"Now who will be the new prime minister of Canada? Will it be Paul Martin of the Liberals, Stephen Harper of the Conservatives, Jack Layton of the NDP, or the leader of the Idiot party ('cause we'll end up with an idiot either way)?

And the winner is... Gilles Duceppe of the Bloc Québécois

*Gilles Duceppe enters, looking very confused*

Now, mister Duceppe, how do you think these elections will affect the world?

Gilles Duceppe: I think it sends a clear message to the rest of the world.

And what message would that be?

Gilles: DON'T MESS WITH CANADA. WE'RE CRAIZY!!"

Oh, and it's nice of you to thank us. You could submit runs yourself if you think you're good enough.

And your english isn't too bad. I'm in a 9th grade french school (english classes in french school are very easy (to me at least), by the way) and most students don't know what the bloody hell we're typing.

Woo! Acadians rule!

And thanks for the support!
Now here I am suddenly feeling bad that I'm American...

Wait...I'm over it now.
Uh.. how did this turn from thanking to listing countries?

Anyway, to continue this, I'm from Finland.

And hey, finland ruled your canadian asses in icehockey last night. 2-0. Whoo!!
hello there
English and proud. We make better music th4n j00. *go Gorillaz*

I'm basically hopeless at speaking other languages. Apparently people from other countries find it much easier to learn English than we do to learn other languages. Probably because we don't have all this "le, la, les", "der, die, das" crap.

Since we're talking about hockey and the french language..... I absolutely HATE when english speakers pronounce names like Mario Lemieux incorrectly. No, it's not Mario Lemewwww.. like how you pronouce "you", it's pronounced like the end of "grrr". Ugh.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but Gorillaz is probably not the best example you could have used if you want to demonstrate your country's musical superiority.

I might have understood if you tried to go all classic Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson, maybe even Queen, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, Def Leopard, Duran Duran, Radiohead, Coldplay... but Gorillaz? Thinking about it some more though (My Bloody Valentine, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Fatboy Slim, Brian Eno, Paul Oakenfold, etc etc, and I'm sure I forget many famous people), I can't really disagree with your point.

I like Gorillaz (at least the first album, produced by Dan the Automator instead of Danger Mouse), more than many of the bands above, but you can't really count them as English! The singer (Damon Albarn from Blur) and the visual artist (that Tank Girl guy) are English, but both producers, DJ Kid Koala, and the contributors (including Del the Funkee Homosapien and Miho Hatori from Cibo Matto who were at least unofficially considered members) can all be considered American. Also, Albarn is IMHO the weakest link anyway. And if you liked Blur, you'll now hate me.

Anyway, my real point is: I cannot let anyone mention Gorillaz without insisting that they go listen to Deltron 3030. Everyone loves Clint Eastwood; it's an entire album kinda like that except built around Del rapping and Dan the Automator producing. (The one track Albarn guest contributes might as well be pre-Gorillaz.) And Clint Eastwood is honestly weaker than most of Deltron's tracks. I think Deltron is definitely the best ever anything that has to do remotely with rap or ___-hop. It's one of my top 5 albums, but Amazon could probably explain the album easier than I could.
You forgot David Bowie and the Kinks.

edit: I only know "you really got me" too.  Um, let's go with Donovan instead.  Not English, but close enough.

You know what's amazing? I thought I included David Bowie, but I didn't. The Kinks I don't know well at all. Actually only that one song, "You Really Got Me" heh. Wink
