Hi athen,
I'd be interested to check this stuff out when I'm not working.  Just an FYI, SDA adds up the level times, not real time.  So I'd use that to know exactly what you're looking at for run time.  Best of luck though!
Caution: This user contains Kana ^_^
Also do feel free to submit to SDA, even if the run is not the world record. It will be accepted as long as the play quality isn't significantly worse and the overall time is faster than what is on SDA at the moment. Wink It's not Speed World Records Archive Wink
General Kong - Bullets and Bananas
Yes, definitely submit.  Although, timewise, I imagine it would be a bit longer if he's running very hard...
I'd suggest learning how to Z cancel first.  Maybe some other tech stuff.

Around sub 7 should be possible if someone get serious about this category. I'll pass.
JP and U (as well as PAL) all have some changes to most characters, if that matters for anything category related.
Depends on how extreme the differences are.  A lot of runs spam 1-2 moves anyway.  The defined categories right now are characters and then difficulties.
no more umbreons pls
Smash 64 has been pretty fun as far as finding quick-kills, but I've been doing Captain Falcon on Very Hard.
notable times (these are the times remaining in each fight):
Link -- 4:54
Yoshi Team -- Can't find my fastest other than 4:25, I know there's at least a 4:3X of this segment by me
Fox -- 4:50
Target -- 1:59
Mario Bros -- 4:34
Donkey Kong -- 4:46 (he accidentally killed himself quickly, also the worst RNG in this run)
Platforms -- 1:58
Kirby -- Can't find my fastest, probably 4:3X
Samus -- 4:48
Metal Mario -- 4:33
Race -- 0:43
Polygon Team -- Can't find my fastest, probably 3:3X
Master Hand -- 4:21
Hello SDA SSB 64 Running Community,
I am looking to create short video series on the history of smash 64 speedrunning. I have gone through all the posts on this thread and others on the game on this site and documented what I think is important. I am interested in doing interviews with veteran smash 64 runner to give more context around the information I have gathered. If you have any links to websites used in the past I may have missed or would like to set up and interview please contact me here, or through my other social media. Thank you for your time and may the RNG be with you
