Sweet segment again, Im really loving this run , keep up the good work!

Also, i'm curious, do you know how many segments its going to be? and also have you roughly calculated how much time running from the beginning to all the observatories is going to add? Just wanted to know.

The route plan that I'm using has 16 segments, though it's possible that tough segments will be split up to make it 17 or 18. We'll see when I get to play the Bedroom and Engine Room segments.

I'm not speaking on Yoshifan's behalf, but considering the following (As posted on youtube...)
Sept 9- Segment 1
sept 13- Segment 2
sept 23- Segment 3
oct 24- Segment 4
nov 19- Segment 5
Dec 23- Segment 6
Dec 31- Segment 7

So to speak, after segment 3, each segment was posted/worked on each month... Of course as of recent, he did post segment 7 a week after segment 6 was posted, although this is because of the winter break and yoshi (as he said in an earlier post) is going back to school, so the segments are going to be spread out again on terms of when each segment is worked on/posted... he also said that he is following the "16 segment" plan for this run and may "split up" the harder segments...

In short, I would guess that the run will be completed by the end of the year, if not by late summer...

No one has made a route yet, but it is a bit straight forward, the only problem is we haven't made an optional route that brings good luck with the prankster comets and the purple coin comets afterwards.

If there was a way to glitch Rosalina and talk to her and go to the fate of the universe, then we could do a 2-Star Run of either SS or 2-Segmented.
Segmented will be:
Segment 1:
Gateway Galaxy
Star 1: Grand Star Rescue

Bowser's Galaxy Reactor
Star 2: The Fate of the Universe
Too Bad, there is no way to glitch her to go to the Final Level with 1 star. SS would be:
Gateway Galaxy: Grand Star Rescue
Bowser Galaxy Reactor: Fate of Universe
But too bad. Either a 60 star run (Which there are three of, a Single Segment Mario finished, a Segmented Mario not finished, and a Segmented Luigi not finished) or a 120 star run (look on page 212 for Mr. Piggy's 120 Star route).

You're route is a little different from the one on the wiki, & I have no idea which route is faster, so maybe one of you guys should look into that...& yoshifan has already started on the segmented 61-star run, but if you think you can beat him, by all means, go ahead.

Wellbe6: Well, just taking a short look at your route, I'd say it would be to your advantage to make more segments. For example, you might as well start a new segment after each Bowser level, since you get sent back to the start of the Observatory anyway.

It's largely due to school this winter, but it's also my own poor time management, I guess.

So back at the start of January, I practiced Fast Foes on the Cyclone Stone and A Very Spooky Sprint. For the past month, I've only played a few hours of Galaxy, mostly Matter Splatter Mansion (Ghostly 6). Just yesterday, I finally confirmed a strategy that will make Ghostly 6 very difficult. I'm highly considering switching Bubble Breeze and Ghostly 6, so that Ghostly 6 will go together with Buoy Base in the shorter Segment 10. But first, I want to play Buoy Base a bit to confirm that this is okay. Then I'll continue practicing for Segment 8 (the current segment) for real. Might be some time until then, so please bear with me.

Your route is a little impossible, because:
Some of the comet stars in your route will not be in orbit, because:
Terrace Comets appear at odd number stars, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, etc.
Other Domes' Comets appear at even number stars, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, etc.

And you put stuff like:
111 (Odd, Terrace Comets only after)
Melty Molten 1: The Sinking Lava Spire
112 (No Comet in orbit on Melty Molten for Melty Molten 4)

IMPOSSIBLE ROUTE ALERT!

Your route is a little impossible, because:
Some of the comet stars in your route will not be in orbit, because:
Terrace Comets appear at odd number stars, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, etc.
Other Domes' Comets appear at even number stars, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, etc.

And you put stuff like:
111 (Odd, Terrace Comets only after)
Melty Molten 1: The Sinking Lava Spire
112 (No Comet in orbit on Melty Molten for Melty Molten 4)
Melty Molten 4: (COMET ALERT, NOT IN ORBIT!) Lava Spire Daredevil Run (Comet NOT in orbit)

And you did that with some other comets, so be careful what you put in your route!

I'm not familiar with 2P play myself, but I think some kind of 2P midair jump has been known for a while. I'm not sure if it was exactly that, though - does the spin stomp affect anything?
Either way, it would be interesting to see what kinds of new shortcuts could be found in 2P; I don't think this has been explored very much. Could help in brainstorming for new 1P shortcuts, too.

Also, you guys have heard about the May 23 date for Galaxy 2, right? That probably means I'll get distracted from the Galaxy 1 run a bit. Wink

Not indefinitely, though - the Galaxy 1 run isn't just an obligation to me, it's really something that I can't wait to continue. There are so many levels where I'd love to show off fast strategies, and every segment so far has been very rewarding to finish. (On that note, I'm still trying to find opportunities to work on segment 8.)

My SS run route is what yoshifan's segmented route is but in SS.
I'm not sure if I'm going to continue Segments 6-18 on my Segmented Run or cancel the Segmented and go to SS.

Not indefinitely, though - the Galaxy 1 run isn't just an obligation to me, it's really something that I can't wait to continue. There are so many levels where I'd love to show off fast strategies, and every segment so far has been very rewarding to finish. (On that note, I'm still trying to find opportunities to work on segment 8.)

Every segment so far has been awesome to watch! Keep it up man. In my opinion this run is turning out to be one of the best / most entertaining speed runs I've watched in a while.
