I think that is like the high jump. If you jump and hit the jump button just as you hit the ground, you will jump higher, and do it again and you can jump even higher.
You've just made a groundbreaking discovery. This trick could take Mario to new heights. I think it needs a better name, though. How about "triple jump"?

LOL. This is priceless.
EDIT: Was about to put it in my sig, until I realized they don't exist anymore.
I like what I've seen of the progress on this game. Good work.
yo I'm new here but if anyone here is bad at yoshi infinite flutter, you can save two clouds from the second rotating place with Bullet Bills/lava in Bowser's Galaxy Generator, and use them with long-jumps to get green star 2.
and also I believe homing ground-pound DOES seek out stars. But I am not sure.
and would there be any way to do flipsville green star 1 without going on the top of the planet? like doing a triple jump towards the edge of the planet, then changing direction in mid-air to go back/left and wall-kick off the narrow wall into the star? If that's hard to understand, I might test it later.
one more thing, the youtube doubling was pretty darn cool, starting video 2 0.07 seconds later made it almost perfect. I bet something similar could be done with future Wild Glide/Fleet Glide videos, like the main star and the races.
Hey peeps I was wondering if banktoad would be allowed for 71 star runs. Sorry if its been covered already.
I think it would be allowed, but as a separate catergory. For a 242 star run, it would bring the required star bit count down from ~18000 to ~8000, cutting around an hour of star bit grinding off the run.
By "using the banktoad", I assume you mean transferring star bits from one file to another with the banktoad, right? (If I'm not mistaken, it seems I have no name assumed this, but Caveberry didn't.) You could probably transfer star bits at multiple points in the run, meaning you could easily transfer over 9999 throughout the course of the run, eliminating the need to get star bits normally at all. Given this, I'm not sure whether it would be allowed or not (I'm not too familiar with SDA rulings on file-to-file transfers).
Edit: Oops, I think I made a bad assumption about how the star bit bank works. There's no actual transfer action, the bank is just shared across files. I'd think it would be a New Game+ sort of category, then...
