Sigh those fucking hammers. When I used to play this a lot sometimes I would just get a feeling there was no chance I was making it through and sometimes I just knew it was happening, can't really explain why.

Need more time for this. Though... with my ultimate goal still being 4:57, there's no rush I guess. I will get it eventually. Smiley

It's gonna take me a long time though, I guarantee that. Sad

I think I can safely say that I will get it sometime. I will have other projects simultaneously though. 4:58 is a time that will stand for a long time, but eventually it will fall. My guess is that 4:58 will stand for 5 more years.

In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and start beating some records that are a bit more beatable.

I did some tests recently. I put one of my best 8-4 performances ever onto one of my 4:58 times. I then calculated a theoretical best time.

Conclusion: A time of 4:57 should be possible when missing one frame rule (ie: bullet bill glitch omitted).
HOWEVER! What this requires is a flawless 8-4 performance. The time I calculated with my incredible 8-4? 4:58.03.

I don't think anyone will ever get a 4:57 without doing the bullet bill glitch. However, I think it's possible. I think it requires an 8-4 performance with 0 frames of error though, and well, that's just ridiculous.

though I lost a frame rule on 4-2 wrong warp because I hit the wall jump pixel going down into the warp zone. My time would've been 4:58.53 if I didn't lose that frame rule Shocked

I think something is up with the 4-2 warp... Andrewg mentioned that one of his runs had some weird 2 frame difference after the 4-2 warp once and I just checked the difference between a normal wrong warp and my run where I lost a 21 frame rule and there is a difference of 22 frames :|
