Im not already trying that. I already watch Jim run and he didn,t use that i just thinking it was impossible. But yeah it does work very well. This is probably only new trick what i don,t see already in SDA.

But seriously sub 17 minutes PAL are quite same as sub 14 minutes on US. I think my run looks quite much 14.06-14.16 on US. But it is very hard to say exact how fast this is.

But it is still stanard and i hope verifier accept this run, because it is very good and i really make my best..

I know this has nothing to do with the run and maybe shouldn't even be posted here, but I'm gonna say it anyway Smiley

Wouldn't it be an idea to also (if this run get's accepted) have 'Probotector 2' in the games list and maybe if you click then redirect to Super C page where it says that Probotector 2 would be the european name for Super C or something?

Same would go with Ninja gaiden and Shadow Warriors. (shadow warriors is the european name for ninja gaiden)
This would be handy for those europeans that don't know that the american version is called differently.
I didn't even know Super C was probotector 2, becuause you also got Super Probotector (don't know the american name for it;p).
Yes it can get a bit confusing at times. Just a thought.

Each game will have metadata for its name in different languages/regions and then depending on which you select for the game list, all the games will be listed that way.

Pah this run take reject. Mainly because my quality was too bad. :-[

I don,t know what wrong with this. My opinion my video quality looks very good in youtube. This really surprised me why this reject my run and i don,t believe i can affect with this in future, even if i can make faster run it surely got reject for poor quality.

But im sorry with this. This looks too i need make 10 seconds faster run. This is surely stanards of the SDA. But mainly i need plan how i improve my video quality. I don,t understand much about DVD settings.

This started piss me off, but i hope you will hear my runs in future.

Well my new record:

17.05 (no deaths)

11-seconds faster than my rejected run. +I using high quality settings with my DVD. I hope SDA- accept this. I think i don,t going post that on youtube. I think i will post that in SDA only. I spend about 6 hours re recording my run today.

Boss battles went much better this time. Level 7 run was riskier than last time. Level 8 don,t look good like last time. I just got much nervous mistakes here, but i think i don,t really lost much time. Otherwhise this was very good i hope it is accetable this time. Anyway.

I think this is about as good as Jim run. Most my bosses went faster than Jim IMO. But levels are quite same. Level 8 is slower than Jim run. I just make some errors here. But i only hope this level only not reject my awesome run.

Anyway this is only 2.59 slower than WR on US versio. This must be SDA stanard and i hope it is accetable. +Quality is better now. Wink

Congratulations MASTER-88. That sounds quite impressive!

The Super-C/Probotector II verifiers seems to be really strict, tough luck.

I actually have a NTSC-Rygar run ready at 26.01, that's over 4 minutes of improvement on the Rygar run here at SDA (30:30 accepted by the Rygar-verifiers).

Thanks. It is quite good run. It is ironic there is still many place where i can save some seconds my time. I run 6-first levels through really fast. Level 7 looks better, but it is still sometimes quite cautions. But riskier run would be suicide here.

Level 8 i check out this and i timed i make something 4-5 seconds pure mistakes here. Luckily end level doing quite quickly and boss battle was fast S-weapon fight (before laser come out).

I think in theory 16.50-16.55 is very potential run. But first i want send this run in SDA, i look forvard try i improve that in future. But this must be quite accetable if quality is fine.

I submit this today this VOB file is quite huge it probably took many hours when Nate take this.

Can't believe the verifiers rejected a 14.20 Super-C NTSC-run when there was no Super-C run at SDA either, that's harsh. I guess a 17.05 PAL-run "equals" 14.13 NTSC or something like that.

Bad news. Again i got rejected, my 17.05 run. Mike say i need 10-20 seconds so it is definitely accept. Tongue

Level 8 mostly reject my run, because i already told here this level was quite rough. I simply paniced and this looks quite stupid sometimes, i timed i make 5-seconds mistakes when level started. But yeah this looks i need set my next goal 16.55 & under it. As well level 7 was quite too much cautions, even this was better than last time, i can take more risk. Sometimes i was faster than Jim too. Level 1 run looks really good. Some verifers even accept this.

All this work and i got reject. This piss me off hell yeah, but wish me luck, i really need it, my next attempt. Roll Eyes

I trying improve that 16.59 and this looks i can,t make it any faster. I can,t got lead this run. I think lowest possible time on PAL versio are somewhere 16.50 and everything under seems impossible if you don,t have turbo controlls or something which make your firing hyper fast.

I didn,t know what Mike mean my 4th boss battle this is not that slow IMO. Seriously IMO there is no faster way firing it down. I know if you killed him middle of the room it explode 0,5-0,8 seconds faster, but this is very minor one. But actually this method make my battle looks really crap.

As well level 3-mini boss was 1 seconds faster and level 5 boss as well.

Level 8 was a lot cooler than my last run. I only make 3-4 stops and both was very minor ones. My last run level 8 looks horrible, but this time i didn,t make major time losts.

I hope verifers read this (who reject my nice 17.05 run). Even this one is only 6 seconds faster. Most my mistakes my 17.05 run are only 0,2-0,5 seconds, so 6-seconds faster run looks quite much better. Because it seems this are very close max limit on console.

I send my 16.59 run to Nate. I just ask for Mike what make my rejection last time. I hear level 8 was main reason with this. I promise my level 8 looks much more cooler this time. But i don,t promise anything else, because my last run was done very well. IMO level 7 looks little bit riskier too. But i don,t still skip extra spider pod here. I plan skip it, but somereason spider pod rhythm was not right, so i just think this was too big risk. But otherwhise 6-first level was cool, actually as same speed as last time IMO.

But i have to say i never ever believe i can reach under 17 minutes goal and imagine how good it looks. Last time i was very dissapoint my last level. and this looks all verifers was too dissapoint with this. My new run looks lot my previous run where i fixed one my most horrible part this time.

Because you keep posting time marks that you regard as the limit for a SP II run, i just ran through that game myelf.
I took the PAL version of course and an invincibility cheat Grin

I did not however save time because of this. I didn't jump through a falling ceiling, ran through the bubbles without stopping or just kept standing up while shooting at the level 3 miniboss. I also used no autofire, but relied on my thumb. I tried this two times and ended with a 16:36 and with a 16:28.

And as my boss fights would be clearly improvable, the fire gun was not used and I also didn't do every jump perfect, I claim 16:30 is possible. You may need to get into frezy_man shape and have an ass of luck too for that, but it is not humanly impossible.

I'd also recommend you to get the VLC player and watch your run and Jim's run in parallel. Just lower down playback speed for Jims run until both run at the same speed. Then you will see, that the time you lost in your 17:05 run is not only lost in level 8, but on several occasions before. Tiny, tiny mistakes add up to seconds Sad

Again, i believe what you have called an unbeatable time will soon be beaten by you by several seconds Cheesy

I make some timed my new run compared rejected run. My level 8 was 4-seconds faster this time. Other two seconds are otherwhise game. I guess level 2 was faster than Jim run even i need dodge one bullet.

Jim's run would be very close to 16:55. Though on PAL he might gain some seconds overall, as he suffered from lag sometimes because of keeping a horde of enemies behind him.
And if I wouldn't need cheats to perform better than the guys having their runs up or submitting, I'd get an NES and a catridge myself Grin

I just wanted to prove you, that 16:50 is by no means an absolute limit. Not even 16:30 is. If you look at the runs for Contra or SMB1, their former runs were already considered great and nearly unbeatable. But over time second by second was shaved off. Now they rather look like a TAS than a normal speedrun.
By that standards 16:30 is easily possible. I didn't want to say that such a run is likely to come soon, neither that getting sub 17:00 on PAL or the game itself would be easy.

Yeah i agree this run is not like SMB 1 run. SMB 1 run are only perfect run in whole site IMO. and this looks you still can cut 4-5 seconds using all TAS tricks. But thats not sounds very human

I make total 12-14 seconds mistakes/wrong intentions my new run and i don,t count very minor ones (example 0,1-0,5 seconds mistakes): (16.46-16.48 are really potential) But how hard it is make, i can,t even imagine? Because this game is random, hard and there is a lot way miss whole run instantly. I one time mess up my very good run attempt in spider pods area and i look back i see i have 1-2 seconds lead my current run. But somereason spider rhythm was wrong and i die. How much this piss off/frustrating? All work must be do again.

Jim run are something 16.56 with PAL speed (Mike timed it last time) so my new current run is 16.59, i don,t personally see point take rejected this time. My biggest time lost was 3-seconds when i kill extra spider pod. Otherwhise i was identical as fast as Jim. I make some things faster and as make some more mistakes than Jim. But difference are only 3-seconds and if i got reject this looks Super-C verifer team are really harch and this will requires 3-more seconds faster run.

But both runs are different and seriously avarage watcher can,t see any difference between Jim and my run.

If i talking about seriously i was quite dissapoint when i got reject last time. But i agree my multiple horrible mistakes in level 8, make this run looks quite sloppy. This time i was 4-seconds faster here and this looks much better IMO. And believe verifers agree this too. Otherwhise you can,t see faster run than last time. I one time mess up my very good run attempt in spider pods area and i look back i see i have 1-2 seconds lead my current run. But somereason spider rhythm was wrong and i die. How much this piss off/frustrating? All work must be do again.

Jim run are something 16.56 with PAL speed (Mike timed it last time) so my new current run is 16.59, i don,t personally see point take rejected this time. My biggest time lost was 3-seconds when i kill extra spider pod. Otherwhise i was identical as fast as Jim. I make some things faster and as make some more mistakes than Jim. But difference are only 3-seconds and if i got reject this looks Super-C verifer team are really harch and this will requires 3-more seconds faster run.

But both runs are different and seriously avarage watcher can,t see any difference between Jim and my run.

If i talking about seriously i was quite dissapoint when i got reject last time. But i agree my multiple horrible mistakes in level 8, make this run looks quite sloppy. This time i was 4-seconds faster here and this looks much better IMO. And believe verifers agree this too.  Otherwhise you can,t see faster run than last time. But i am very happy my new run and i really think this must be good enought into site. But all depend can i got one more accept vote. ;)
