Do we want to include a game with the 3DS or just have the 3DS? I don't know what all will be out by August but I imagine OoT3D will still be the biggest title at the time if we included one.

There's also Amazon, which doesn't charge tax for orders from most states. Someone could buy the 3DS and have it shipped (which should also be free) to Essentia as a gift order.

Amazon is a little cheaper too. I see the cheapest new one as $229, but it's from a seller. Price is with shipping. I see the same price on both the black and aqua blue 3DSes.

And I think if we include ANY game, it should be OOT3D. It'll be about $40 more if we tack that on.

I think the 3DS and OOT3D sound like a great grand prize idea. I don't mind buying those myself on Amazon; I have a prime membership, so I get free two-day shipping on everything. I also noticed that Amazon will give a $25 credit for buying a 3DS, so I could buy that first and then apply the credit towards OOT.

I have a prize I would like to donate for the marathon. I would like to prize to go to the highest bidder on a OoT Race (if there is one!!) I have a Versus Books guide for OoT complete with both original posters still inside. The book is in great condition for its age I would say. I'm not sure who I should contact to send the guide to if you all want to accept it as a suitable gift?

My feelings on The Demon Rush

Well, there won't be an OoT race at this marathon, but we should have at least some sort of OoT run at the next AGDQ. The strategy guide would be a good prize IMO, and I hear Versus books made good strategy guides.

I have a copy of the Versus Guide book and it is very well designed (provides the side quest information within the main quest so it makes for less backtracking) and the guide is pretty much spoiler free. It's an earlier Versus Book guide and would make a good prize (especially for strategy guide collectors) whenever the next race is.

I have two Japanese 1.1 copies of Link to the Past and one Japanese 1.0 copy that could be used as prizes. I know we're a little heavy on Zelda prizes, but I don't really have anything else to do with these cartridges...

Man that japanese 1.0 copy could really be used by a really awesome Lttp runner who plays on an emulator and uses a keyboard. I forget her name but she (I think shes a she lol) was searching for a 1.0 japanese cart for awhile. I think its kryssstal or something like that. The japanese 1.0 cart allows all the cool speed running glitches like hammer dash and mirror block vanishing IIRC. Also this is Gojeran and the prize doesn't have to be used for a OoT race it just seemed fitting is all. I could send it somebody and it could be used this marathon for a prize or if there are enough already just save it and use for AGDQ? Let me know!!

Prizes that would be awesome for runners to get a hold of aren't exactly what should be given out as prizes for the marathon. The majority of the people enjoying the marathon will probably never use it for speedrunning. I suggest going to the Tradiing Post board and asking if someone wants it for speedrunning purposes.

Really, only the 1.0 version would be "awesome" for a runner to get a hold of. The 1.1 version lacks a couple of time saving glitches that are used quite a bit in a normal run. So I can see not offering the 1.0 version. But the 1.1 versions are basically foreign versions with a prettier label/form factor.

Sorry I'm a bit late, but I thought of some more Perler ideas. If there's not enough time, then these don't have to be done, but if they can, then it would be awesome.
