I hope the "Don't be shy, we won't bite!" note is accurate, because I am a relative nooB and this suggestion is probably stupid or already suggested before.

Would it be cool to have some type of recognition to the left of every forum post of people who have one or more speedruns hosted on the site?  Something to go with the stars and the ___ Donkey Diddler rating?

I don't know what, for example there could be a different-colored smiley depending on how many runs you have on the site, maybe purple for 1, green for 2-3, etc., etc., gold for the few people with the most runs.  Or it could be words, like "Owner of ## Speed-Runs."

Like I said, probably a stupid idea.  Especially since anyone who spends any time here already knows who are the successfull runners.

King of hearts
I like that idea, and a long time ago I wanted to suggest that too.  But then I thought about it and it would be too complicated.  Because there are individual level runs, and long single segment ones, so how much would an individual level be compared to the SS?  Not equal I hope.

It would be cool though.  It would also somewhat promote more runs being made.

That's what sigs are for. It just wouldn't work as a system.
Sleeping Terror
Yeah, I think most people who want that recognition just put it in their sig. I can't see how an automated system would work better than that. As has been mentioned, not all speedruns are equal.

And using such a system to promote doing runs isn't necessarily a good idea... a flood of mediocre runs wouldn't be helpful.
If all my WLK runs were accepted, I would expect that to count as 1, or possibly 1 1/2 since there's single-seg and some of the individual stages.

But I understand now, encouraging people to hurry and submit lots of mediocre runs just for a cool symbol on their posts would be no good at all.
Talk to the Hand
Once again, I'll echo the previous sentiments and say "good idea, difficult to implement". Both for everything mentioned above, and from a coding standpoint, I'm pretty sure the forums have nothing to do with the rest of the site. People could have different names on the forum than they use as their speedrunning alias, etc, so these symbols would have to be added manually. This would, I imagine, be hell on Radix and Co.
