Hey guys.  I'm a newbie to this speedrun community, but I've played videogames for a long time.  I would never be able to do a speedrun myself, but I do enjoy watching the videos and envy those who can.

My question is this.  A lot of times, on several forums, I see the name Shin.  People refer and compare to him (or her) a lot, and the only website I found, I can't get around because it's not in English.  So can someone help a stupid newbie and tell me where I can find some of Shin's stuff so I don't feel so ignorant anymore?
Thanks a lot
Toukie

'Shin' is way too common to search on. It might be a reading for 心 - if so, try that.

Edit: Hmm, that japanese character didn't render properly.
Waiting hurts my soul...
Shin probably means death, so it's going to be very common.  I suggest asking those posting about this Shin who they are refering to.

Shin is the name of a Biohazard runner from Japan. He does a lot of Capcom games. That's probably who he's talking about.

I wish Japanese characters would render properly so I could have another way to annoy ickle laggykins ;-O
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Thanks, Carcinogen, that's exactly who I was talking about.  Now all I have to do is find a way to understand the website so I can understand what I'm looking at.

It's a records site for Resident Evil speedruns in Japan. Just blind navigate (or install the East Asian Language pack and try to learn Japanese, but that shouldn't be necessary). They have videos there and stuff.
I'm a 'Shin'.

'Cept I suck at speedrunning.

Babelfish might ease the navigation, but longer sentences tend to be gibberish if you don't have understanding on how the language is supposed to work. Although I seriously doubt it would be much easier if you did.

He ran Onimusha 2 and Biohazard: Gun Survivor, which you'll find on the Game Movies and Biohazard pages.

I haven't watched his BH:GS run, but his Oni 2 run is excellent. Loved the route and execution.

In the 'Yaricom' link you'll find lots of other games he did. I haven't watched all of them, but the Killer7 videos (a 'naked' play through killer8 mode, with no upgrades and no Harman Smith) aren't good examples of his skills because it was a handicapped play through, not a speedrun.

I just noticed he links to SDA. Cool.
'Shin' Means 'God' in Korean.

It has a lot of meanings. ThePatrick translated shin as 'mind' in his FAQ for the Japanese version of Yakuza (he teaches you a thing or two about pronouncing Japanese too, listing all syllables and other stuff), a PS2 game. The english version of the game calls it 'spirit'.

I forgot to mention Shin also made some videos for Devil May Cry 3, Resident Evil GCN, Ninja Gaiden (not Black) and Omunisha: Dawn of Dreams. They're found all over his site.

Edit: Onimusha, not Omunisha.
Bump. Does anyone still have shin's speedrun videos?
