Speed-run bonus features/additional content

Yoshi's eggs are at my mercy!

I had this idea in mind for a while..where if certain people are up to it, can add additional content to whatever speedrun they did. Like, for example, after the credits roll on Yoshi's Island, someone could (if they want) have additional footage of themselves doing sick tricks with egg throwing/catching.

The main reason I suggest this is because for my upcoming Tails Adventure mode on Sonic Adventure DX, I wanted to show me using tails and ending up in Sonic's intended segment of Speed Highway where he falls down the building and his 3rd part of the level, for fun. Wink

Oh, and how to get Tails into Emerald Coast as well!

Anyone else have any examples/ find this somewhat amusing?

I liked the bloopers at the end of the GoldenEye SS run, but I think "sick tricks" should be shown/demonstrated within the run.

It might be kind of cool, though.

No. Doing so would increase file size, download time, and radix's upload time. Honestly, a speedrun is not the right place for it, at least IMO. :/

Yeah I had considered all that before, but I figured I would throw the possibility around before I finalize any of my runs..

Well...if this file is already into the hundreds of MB, another three or five won't make much of a difference. I know that my GE bloopers were enjoyed by most and I think that was worth the trouble.

I had some....interesting bloopers/glitches happen during my DKC3 runs but I couldn't really add it anywhere.

I think that special features/bloopers/additional commentaries would be an INCREDIBLE inclusion in ONLY the DVD's. I for one, know for an absolute fact that I would buy quite a few DVD's if they were to have a significant amount of the aformentioned. It would be a HUGE pull factor in anybody considering buying the DVD's, I havent yet because from what I can tell its just the same as dling it for free, there's not much incentive. Yeah there would be a good deal of work involved, but i wouldnt be surprised if dvd sales doubled because of it.

make it a DVD exclusive feature!

I'm not saying that DVD sales are gonna jump like crazy because people will buy them just to see 5-10 minutes of extra crazy stunts, but some might >_>

And even then, if I had a choice of either buying the DVD or downloading the run for free, well, I'd probably just download the run. I might buy a run or two if I really enjoy it, but it might motivate people more to buy DVDs if you actually put something in there that the free download runs here don't have

I've been working on one of these for quite a while...sometimes it is harder then the actual speed run Tongue

*there are always new things to find* So I want to include as many glitches etc. as possible...

I just wanted to say marhmallow Im ranked on the-elite.net for both ge and pd and I saw your speed run for 00 and loved the archives bloopers the most lol

I wholeheartedly support the idea of having bonus content. Maybe just have a downloadable file listed after the final speedrun segment, a file which just contains a bunch of small clips appended together. There's something very specific that I have in mind when I say this, something to go with a future run I plan to do...

I was thinking when I ever get done with my urbz run I would add in some dumb things sort of like a blooper reel. Because one part of the run i went back to the house to do some things such as make my character go to the bathroom and then the damn animal blocked the door and i couldn't get out.I ended up resetting and doing this segment over again.
