I have tried everything imaginable but I can't get this problem to stop. Here's what I have used.

- An AV Famicom HVC-101
- A USA PS2
- Official Nintendo AV cable (mono)
- Official Nintendo AV cable (stereo)
- Official Sony AV cable (composite)
- Official Sony AV cable (s-video)
- Adaptec Gamebridge 1400/1500 on Windows XP
- Adaptec Gamebridge 1410/1510 on Windows XP
- Reinstalled both device's drivers from scratch with computer restarts before/after
- 8 different versions of Virtual Dub ranging from 1.7.8 to 1.10.7, including a couple versions of Mod
- AmarecTV 3.10

Exactly 30 seconds after starting up in VirtualDub/AmarecTV, the sound to the Gamebridge cuts out. This happens whether it was recording or not. If anything is done to refresh the overlay/capture card, the sound restarts. So:
- If I sit for 30 seconds after opening recording mode, the sound will cut out and not come back
- If I hit record after this happens, the sound comes back, but only for another 30 seconds
- The video still plays in the overlay and records properly even when the sound cuts out
- The sound is not present in the recording (so it's not just the overlay)
- The console is playing the sound correctly because when I stop the recording or refresh the overlay, I can suddenly hear the sound again

Other oddities:
- In any version of VirtualDub starting at 1.9.x and up, the Gamebridge actually can't be used; some weird Microsoft driver has to be used instead, and then there's no sound at all.
- AmarecTV gives me an ICOpen error if I use anything other than Lagarith, including a non-codec like UYVY (it claims I don't have the codec installed). I don't want to use Lagarith because it doesn't natively support UYVY (it is decoded as YUY2).

I really don't know what to do. If I can give you more information about my setup, please ask because it's hard to just list literally every single setting that I have used over my now 6 hours of attempts, especially when I don't know if they'll be helpful.

I figured out the cause of this: I am recording at the framerate 30.0494, which is the NES framerate. When the framerate is set like this, after that many frames? (30 seconds), the audio cuts out. No existing sync setting has been found to fix it (I believe I have now made my way through every single combination of them).

So now the question is: how are you folks with Gamebridge devices using the proper framerates for recording? The Gamebridge doesn't seem to be able to handle this. If I record in 29.9700, no problems in VDub or Amarec. But once I use 30.0494, I lose sound after 30 seconds. Can I not record at the proper framerate with this device?
