Small update about 4-H Center Status

My feelings on The Demon Rush

They proposed some meeting rooms for us, so I'm going to visit and scout them out on Thursday. I'm also going to get some price estimates on the rooms. The first thing I'm going to do is test the meeting rooms for cell phone reception. The second thing I'll do is ask how many red couches we can get. Cheesy

Aside from those two things, I don't think I have a lot to research since we've already stayed there once.

My feelings on The Demon Rush

So I visited the center today and scouted out our potential meeting rooms, and they look good. The center also wants our business, which is also a good thing!

The Building: Our two meeting rooms are in the McCormick hall, which is near the back parking lot. Yes, this means we can actually park fairly close to our rooms this time, and there's a small space across from the building where we can unload stuff from our cars. If you're wondering exactly where it is, our old building was in the right front, McCormick is in the right-rear.

The meeting rooms: I'll upload pictures later, but they're mostly the same as last year with two exceptions. The bigger room, the Oklahoma room, has two dividers, so we can split it up into thirds, and open up a bit of space if the marathon room gets super crowded, then close it back up again when the crowd is smaller (we don't have to do this, but it's worth considering). The smaller room, the New York lounge, has a mini-fridge and sink! The rooms are about the same size as last year, but unlike last year, they're not right next to each other (still close though).

Also, sleeping rooms are close to the meeting rooms, so there isn't a lot of traveling to do once you wake up. That is, if you're not sleeping on a couch. Wink

Cell phone reception: I didn't get a strong signal, but I did get a signal, and my phone wasn't constantly searching for service so it's better than last year. My provider is Verizon, BTW.

Price estimates: I don't have specific estimates on me yet, but Boniene said the prices wouldn't be more expensive than last time. Staying will be a little more expensive because we're hard capping at five people per room.

Red Couches: We can get more! Cheesy

Adding rooms to our contract: As long as they're available, we can do it, so if people are unsure initially, but later find out they can come, it's okay.

Fridge! Yes! Now there's no excuse for the jar of spoiled mayonnaise that was next to all my electronics (def not mine, btw). -_-

Everything looks good! When you say the rooms aren't next to each other, is there a room separating them, or is just around a corner or something? I'm just wondering if some other group will have a room between ours. I don't imagine that being the case, though.
