So I was experimenting a SpeedRunsLive rage quit-less route called:
Freshfile Any%, No Big Secret, Foam restriction.

No Big Secret means you go to the right, right after the spider boss.
Foam Restriction means you can only use foam to unlock foam guarded doors. Any use of Foam Towers/Bridges is forbidden. I compare the foam tower like X-ray climbing on Super Metroid, only less glitchy and shows less of the game after executing it.

Edit: Best 100% timesaver ever, so risky the run will be rejected if you mess up the trick!

If you haven't been following on #SDA irc, you missed out that I've found a new glitch that is so good that freshfile any% can be cut down to sub 20. NG+ has way less rage quit moments now.

Low quality image here is NG+ right before the final nuke, I didn't complete it because I want to have a new yet easily beatable personal best. Now i need to invest myself a HD capture card to make it worthwhile.

NG+ Any% SUB 12 MINUTES CONFIRMED different route, best route change since Any% OoT. It's that good.

Well the previous NG+ any% route was annoying and minor screw ups on sequence breaks can lead to retrying the entire run. This new route has easier tricks and executing minor mistakes doesn't mean reset any more.

In other words: Shorter, easier and less rage quits when it comes to SRL Races.

This run had 2 screw ups on the nuke trick. So... sub 10:30 is very likely.

new low% milestone.
It skips missiles now however it abuses a trick where once you pick up the missiles (it's currently 3%). Then without hitting any save checkpoints, destroy the missile door that leads to the trap room. Enter the trap room, and as the explosion starts pause and load from last save. This takes you back to a previous save spot before you obtained the missile but the game checks you have been to the trap room so you can enter the final battle with 1 less item now.

This kind of glitch to lower the item % seems a no no to me as you did pick up the item. Similar to many requests of buster only runs on MM, you picked up the bosses weapons, no point ignoring/dropping it.
