As a long time fan of the stream, a Minnesotan, and a convention goer, I hope it's not the Crowne Plaza. They have more room but parking is such a huge issue in the middle of the city like that for a decent sized attendance for anything. It's not a huge issue for me as I have some tricks but last time a convention was there, it ended up being a huge problem for everyone. Ramada however does have the issue of it can be really small for an event of a decent size. The little center courtyard makes for a nice place to chill though.

Ideally the Double Tree is where most of this stuff tends to happen and for good reason, they have everything you could ever need in spades. I'm guessing not an option on short notice though as their schedule tends to fill up real fast if you don't plan ahead.

Anyways, I look forward to the event and love that it's happening right in my home state where I'll get a chance to go. Will try to make a few stuffed animals to donate as prizes for you guys. Cheesy

The place is already picked. It's the Crowne Plaza. Happy parking!
Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.

We're aware of the parking issue and we're working on ways to solve it, nothing to announce right now.

The Double Tree was unfortunately not an option (among many many other hotels across many cities).
P.S. Earthbound
This is so AWESOME!  In his stream, Witwix just mentioned that SGDQ would be here in the Twin Cities, and I almost didn't believe it (thought I had heard wrong).  Haha.  I was thinking about traveling to SGDQ regardless of where it was, but this news is amazing.

I own a house over in St Louis Park (the suburb immediately west of Minneapolis), so I'm maybe a 25-30 minute drive from the venue.  Time to file for that week off of work!

I wonder if there's a player or attendee who will need a spot to crash?  I could only offer them a couch (because I don't have a spare bed in any of my spare bedrooms, funnily enough), or maybe we could get an air matress.  But that might save someone some dough; I understand how frugal some people may need to be regarding the trip.  They may just face transportation costs to/from my place if they need to be there at some point when I don't want to be -- otherwise, carpool city!
Can't wait to Z-Something awesome!
I'm with eednob and Prolix: I live more on the St. Paul side of town but having spent many happy hours watching every year I'm ready to finally make things happen and help. I'm going to try submit a run of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles 1Player NA - Any %, and some other fun Rhythm Games if they'll allow DDR, Parrappa the rapper, DJMAX ect ect while being flexible to run during the over nights and such.

I've already made my request for the week off and will be open to supporting my fellow gamers! I humbly offer these following things!
-I'd more than be willing to provide shuttling for runners from the airport!
-I'm pretty light for equipment offerings (Only notable gear would be my GBA-to-Gamecube player + CD, closet of games)
-My Costco Membership knows how to feed and/or fuel an ARMY pretty cheaply.
-Definitely considering splitting a hotel room with others.
-Other Volunteer things as I can afford time wise.

Its time to show what being Minnesota Nice is all about Tongue
Romscout, you should check out the people who run Salt Lake Comic Con to see if they can help out with running SGDQ in Salt Lake.  I'm sure they'll be able to help you meet the budget and you can do it in Utah

Maybe for next year, but this year is already decided, venue and all.
You never know
Redoing contracts, forcing people to rethink their flight plans again, yeah I think we do know.
