Many things already mentioned in this thread, and on a non-game note, people's post-marathon soliliquys. I was actually a bit moved and got a tear in my eye.
You're all lovely and it's been a pleasure watching the marathon these last few days.
Merging SGDQ 2012 highlights/bloopers threads and giving first post to UA. Pasting Yagamoth's original suggestions here:
Well, I think it's better to note the highlights as they come. So far:
Highlights: Startropics 2, Cactus Dance around 35:00 ingame time Portal, perfect ending... And a lot of awesome stuff inbetween, no clue where to start though ^^ Athena Race ending Metal Gear, Dunnius doing some stuff blind ^^ Mega Man, Dunnius getting the Bombman zip - sort of Mega Man, Dunnius showing off Bombman glitch after the run Mega Man 9, Duckfist, No Damage Wily Mega Man 10, Duckfist, ~28:15, "cool looking trick" Final Fantasy 6, Essentia, ~1:19:00 Surviving
Bloopers: Shatterhand, Bossfight around 34:00 Ratchet & Clank, ~1:10 fall , ~1:38 fall again ^^ Rockman and Forte, Romscout, ~20:00, dashing right into the boss and dying
Oh... I didn't keep it up enough, despite watching most of the marathon :/
FFVIII part 1: Triple Triad (either highlight or blooper) Cabe Story: Ballos final phase (highlight) Die Hard (not sure if it should go under highlights or bloopers) Typing of the Dead: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! (~18:34 on the run timer) (highlight) Super Mario World: Mike's shout when we hit the goal messing up the runners (blooper)
For the bombman zips, the one during the run can be a blooper since I messed up, but the one after the run can be a highlight because I did it correctly. Plus that leads into the useless bombman glitch highlight.
Of course, the GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but only the shout) is a funny blooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooper.
blooper: the entire Super Metroid run Not sure who thought this was a good idea for a charity event, but it's not and pissed off a great number of people. Please don't do this again.

The streaming audience, apparently, they're the ones that donated for it.
yeah, I had to +M before the onslaught of DAT ASS at the end of that run. I'm not going to pretend that it offends me personally, but I agree that it was not an appropriate choice for a charity marathon, even if it was specifically donated for. At least one person actually said that they were ashamed that they donated because of it. That being said, the run itself was awesome.
Well, I'll take the blame for suggesting it, but I honestly didn't remember how bad the ending was. I DID expect to get shot down because of the fact that it was a romhack, and there were any number of people with power over the marathon that could have said "no" and it would have been dropped at that moment. Heck I didn't even remember that I was going to do that until someone reminded me after I turned on the real version. That said, I don't have any intention of suggesting it again.
If I remember right, the beginning of Rygar had a mishap where the cart read weird and made everything 3-bit or so. Also that ending was clutch on both accounts.
Highlights: -SADX +Sub 17 Chaos 0 +Blind Train entry (~22:30) +Ice Cap, both clips first try (a little after 10 minutes) -AoS +Arena Zip -> Balore Save +Second Chaos fight
Bloopers: -SADX +Sandwich +Missing the capsules in Twinkle Park, Speed Highway, and Red Mountain +Dying on the first shortcut in the game -AoS +First Chaos fight +failing the top floor zip repeatedly (this may have taken less time than I remember, in which case it's not much of a blooper)

Sorry to those who decided to be offended.
Could someone give me a context, what was wrong with the Super Metroid run? Didn't see it, but this game is - as I know it - a classic speed run game! So why was it bad?

My guess is that some people were offended by pixels, since they were playing the Justin Bailey hack. If you haven't seen it, here's a few screenshots: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/342/
Personally I was more upset about the use of a ROM hack in the first place, though I was surprised that the chat reaction didn't feature too much in the way of "OMG UR CHEETZ" and the like.
I think we can just write that one off as a misfire, and move on.
