Lay waste to everything...but I still love SDA!
Greetings!

Played on PC, recorded with Fraps, resolution 1024x768, framerate 30. I encoded with Anri-chan 3,
settings: D1 F2 3D progressive.

There wasn't any log file in the finished folder. I found one in the segment's main folder, but there is no useful data in it. If the log should contain information about the encoding process, then maybe the 'x264pass2_stdout.txt' is what i should post?

Anyway, the encodes seem very crappy to me, but i couldn't make better. If you know what the problem was, please help me.
Thanks!

Thread title:
it seems like your capture is < 10 fps. you might try turning down graphical settings or capturing at a lower resolution to increase that, especially if you are not going to make better than hq using anri (you are throwing away the extra resolution anyway). otherwise looks good.

First, thanks.
Maybe i should have chosen a better part for the test. The high-up view made the game laggy a bit. I tried to avoid that most of the time. This is caused by bad game design i think. After many patches, Sacred still has a lot of flaws, like the system requirements. It's funny, but it eats up more memory than its sequel.  Undecided
However, i can't record it in a lower resolution, because the game uses the monitor's resolution.
Oh, and Anri didn't offer higher quality options, just the LQ, NQ, HQ, and xvid versions. Maybe the source file was broken? Virtualdub said it was 30 fps.
have to ask snow about not offering to encode in higher res. and you can't turn down your monitor res to like 800x600 or something?

I can, but the game still runs at the highest possible res, that the monitor can handle. And mine is a 17".
you're kidding me. whoever wrote that code needs to be shot.

It's a German game.  8)
I didn't find any option in the game about the resolution, not even in the config files.
Also i checked the capabilities of my pc, and i can record the game at 30 fps in the closer view, but in the high-up, the framerate drops to <20 sometimes. Fortunately i didn't used that view, but now i don't know if i can submit the run in this form.

You said no to "is this a pc game?" ?
what you posted is fine for submission. just don't be surprised if people make fun of your pc or something.

The fact that he's manually entering dfnd means he's saying no to the PC game question. He's not getting an option for IQ / XQ because he entered F2. He shouldn't have entered F2 in the first place.
yeah, i was referring to the framerate, not the resolution. i guess it's his call whether he wants to preserve the original resolution considering only hq is required at that framerate.

but yeah, do what snow said.

I entered F2 because the framerate was 30, and i answered yes to the "is this a pc game recorded with a screen capture software?".
My pc is an Athlon 64 x2 4400 with 2 gb 1066 ddr2 ram and a 2600xt card, which should be enough for this game.  :-[

edit: Umm, so what shall i do?
On beta 4?

If you answer yes, then you shouldn't be asked about D, F, 3D. Otherwise it's probably a bug. Is your operating system in german? If so, that could be a cause.

Anri 3. It gives default settings (d1f1 3d), but i thought i have to encode in f2 since the framerate was 30. So i answered no to the "encode now with these settings?" or similar question.

My op system is in hungarian. Now i understand i think. That caused the problems. I think i will change that in the future.
Oh, i didn't used special characters in file or folder names.

Sorry, but i have to go to work now, i'll be back later. See you!
lol, you know the codebase is rotten when no one has any clue what the predicted behavior is. we're working on it, we promise.

You can create pictures of the option menu and I can help you to translate the german text.
You can also ask in the other language board. SDA has many german users which can help you.

Thank you MortyreR45, but the game language is english. It just has no option which can affect the resolution. Maybe my statement was a bit harsh, but you know, i wouldn't speedrun a game that i have problems with. Sacred has many flaws, but it's an entertaining game.

Nate, so the lack of quality options (IQ, XQ) was my mistake, and the video looks crappy because of the low framerate. Maybe my hard drives are so slow or something. But the encoding went well, so i think Anri works as how it should. The majority of the run is smoother, but i recorded more than two segments in the high-up view, which caused the low framerate. I don't know now that i can submit the run, i think i will ask other people in the run's thread.
Thank you all!
