Hello,

I ran Trine 3 artifacts of power a few months ago and I took a break. Now I want to get back at it, but in the meantime they released a new version which fixes most of the fun tricks. I cannot possibly beat my old record with the new patch. I bought the game on steam and I cannot find a way to revert the patch.

With steam, is there a way to play a game on an older version?

Thanks!

The only way that I know of to play an older version on steam is to make a backup of the older version before it's patched. When you want to play, copy the old folders back to the main steamapps/common folder and launch the game normally (some games require offline mode or they'll be patched again). If you didn't make a backup you'll have to find someone that has the older version.
If the game is on GOG in the Galaxy client, often you'll be allowed to downpatch, but only down to the patch that was out when the game came out on GoG.

Luckily for you, Trine 3 is on gog http://www.gog.com/game/trine_3_the_artifacts_of_power so they might have the release patch.
I do have a backup of the game. When I tried to replace the files few days ago, it said there was a corruption somewhere. I reinstalled the game from scratch and replaced all the files by my backup and it now works fine.

Thanks all!
