I played this game a lot at launch of the PC version, and I just recently picked up the 3DS version and it rekindled my love of this game.

This game needs a speedrun.

I have beaten the game quite quickly before, (I think the time was between 1:15:XX - 1:30:XX, I lost the recorded time)

If anyone else wants to help me with this, please let me know.
I should have a full run done by tonight.

This is any%, no side missions are required.

Sweet. The only thing stopping me from completing a run at this point is a lack of usable and helpful splits. For now I am just going to split after every mission that ends at Doc Choc's house.

Will have a complete run soon.

Yeah I think a lot of that has to do with it being an open world map. Most likely doing a full run today. Will post the link.

been playing through it and got a 1:20ish
really fun run! the fact that it's entirely skill based turned me on to it.

How goes it? I may try this soon as well. The routing would look really weird with needing to get the constant coffees and getting the speed shoes at the right times. I did a turbo run after not playing for awhile and it took like 3 hours in-game time. Roll Eyes

Oh gosh. Did not know that if you have speed shoes during the cutscene after getting the chocolate pudding with doc and talking to gamedini, you kill doc during the cutscene by running into him lol. Worth noting that during that mission if you kill doc immediately at his house and hit continue, you load at the convenience store on the other side of town. Will have to test to see if this occurs in other missions. (edit: you kill the girl at zach's burgers with speed shoes also. no other skips that i could see like the convenience store skip)

Also, how in the world do you embed youtube on SDA, or do they have that blocked?

Full test run vid below in 1:22. pretty bad execution on a few missions lol. Probably 10 minutes can come off super easy just from like 3 long missions due to deaths or not having coffee after a death (bionic suit mission, go-go buster, and dynamite cars are the ones i can remember were bad). Oh well. I think it's got all the correct strats in it though if it helps anyone. There's a lot of missions that power you down or take all your items that don't make a lot of sense why; that made it a bit annoying to route.

Also, if anyone has split ideas they've been using, post them. I guess it probably just makes most sense to split after every mission when the music plays. But I tried splitting after every mission that ends at doc's house (except running over people in future car mission). I counted 7 splits.... probably not even right.

Trying to revive this since I haven't had much speedgaming lately. Unfortunately I need to get another gamepad before I start again or get used to PC controls. Does anyone here play with mouse & keyboard?

So I recently did a run and I have a feeling I took some flavor of incorrect route or that there are missions you can skip that I was unaware of. My run appeared to consist of all blue missions. Are there some missions you don't have to do? (I know the orange ones are all optional)

Just watched your run and I didn't realize the difference that coffee makes to your speed. Gonna do another run tonight actually using coffee.

Over the past week I have been doing crazy routing for this game. I just did a rusty run with almost no practice and got a 1:41. Would have been way faster but the final boss screwed me a few times. With practice and less deaths this can become a great run.

Well, I have been running this game again, and today I got WR.

I am REALLY excited about it.

Time is 1:12:26

I had a lot of mess ups on my run, my sum of best is currently 1:11:08
I think sub 1:10 is possible but its gonna be tough.
