Resi evil 2,3 & 4

i was thinking of atempting to beat the special weapons run on resi 4, i already know i can beat the resi 2 and 3 runs i'll just have to tape my runs lol...

anyone think i'll be able to beat them? lol well i'm gonna try Wink

well the re2 runs i could beat on psx...let alone ps2 or GC... there weak records....

re4 i'd play in a 19 segments...

and re3 is pointless

i'm gonna do resi 4 in 2 segments and all the resi 2's single segments and i agree with the resi 2 they are pretty weak lol

well 19 segments will give you the quickest finish...

and obviously re2 will be done single segment... and like with re2 leon b... default setting on psx fastest time is like 1h21m back when i use to play through it that way... and on ps2 that would be like 1h16-1h17... and now on GC i got a time of 1h11m...default setting... leonb is my favoutire shit....

will you be running the re2 on GC?

i will indeed, i know segments would help to be faster but i dunno lol i just like going from start to end without inturruption but you never know if you might die or something lol (i.e krauser knife fight) my last time on leon A on gamecube was 1hr11mins, B was 1hr16mins, clair A was 1hr18mins and clair B 1hr15mins my fastest on resi 4 was 1hr54mins with special weapons hence why i'm gonna beat the special weapons run thats up at the mo lol from start on normal mode i managed a 2hr13min time but i wanna get that down abit.

edit: i mean 3 hrs 13 mins on normal new game Wink

i got to the end of 2-3 today in 44 minutes,,,which fir my secon run on pro mode...its not bad

not bad i done a test run today for my run 2hrs01mins special weapons run single seg so i already beat the one already up but with some tweaking in stragy i plan on beating the 9 segment one i'm sure i can knock off a few mins here and there i think it'll make an intresting run Wink

nice time.... 1h54m is the best time ive seen....but im sure japanese got it to the sub 1h50m mark by now...

and in re4 im stuck at the second half of 3-1...in my pro mode run.... i hate this part....

and char your re2 times should be polished abit more....

they where my times before i attempted speed running them lol but i've done my final ajustments for my special resi evil 4 run and my time is now 1hr 58mins and with that said it's time for me to do the real thing there are a few little things that i use to make things faster...

one is using the rocket launcher instead of dynamite on the rocks in the mine, knowing my way around the garden maze, not stopping for anything even close enemies just remember if the point or throw they can't do anything even if you touch them until there animation for pointing or throwing is done.

after that i'll be working a a pro mode run and resi 2 till then peace.

i hate 3-1.... i really do... its bugging me...its mainly because i try to do stuff fast like all weapon runs.... so im sucking...lol

If you're playing RE:2 and 3 on the gamecube then you should note that the GC version will run around 8-10 minutes faster over the entire game when compared to the psx version. It's really not comparable at all...in fact your 1:11 run on the GC is likely inferior to the current 1:19 psx run (though it may be close).

The 1:12 vid on this site for the Biohazard 2 version is currently the best run currently available for RE:2/Biohazard 2. Though it should also be noted that their are differences between the versions...regardless the differences will only favor the Biohazard 2 players by around 30 seconds or so.

Currently I can beat Leon A in under 1:14 minutes on the psx version; for the GC version I've gotten in the 1:08 range but that was ages ago (back when I was still getting 1:17's for the psx version).

I said 8-10 minutes. And I'm not saying it's an exact estimate...it's been far too long since i've played it and I don't plan on getting the GC version again.

I've got two questions:
1)is 1:58 in a SS? I thought I read before that you were doing it in two, but then i saw that you did it in like 1:54, and i figured that was your seg'd run.

2) Are you using the PAL version? I have the NTSC (US)version, and the boulder trick was taken out, as well as some other things. I also heard the AI is less 'smart', making for an easier run.

The reasons I ask is because i completed/ taped a SS Resident Evil 4 NTSC version in 2:01:49.

Note: NTSC means it's the US version, right? If not, then I used the US RE4, despite what NTSC means. Sorry fro teh n00b qUesTiOn.

well i dunno but i brought it in america (NY to be precise) and it plays on my US GameCube maybe there's different versions out or mine is just a wierd freak but i have easy mode and the RL works on the rock... ok after that i'm pretty sure my RE4 disc must be pal but somehow capcom must of ... you know what this is wierd...

also the maze garden i find getting the one in the corner first then the one up the stairs faster cos you can jump straight down and through the gates and carry on.

now i'm gonna investigate my copy of RE4 *writes to capcom* i'm gonna get some answers here lol

Take a look at this page to see where gamecube discs have a version number on them. Tell us what your re4 says... It's possible that they released a 2nd version in the US that contains some changes they did for europe.
