Hi, great fan of the site, now I have a Splinter Cell 3 video that really wants a place here.

Firstly how do I contact you, in heavy detail if you can. I haven't understood anything on the link or from topics. I am not very computer smart.
There were some members talking about PM, I was just lost.

Then the run itself, do I need to compress it myself as it is currently recorded as a 5G .mpeg file.
It seems the required software needs to be bought, can you work me through the steps that will get it down to avi size please.

I'll take a while to respond since I'm on my gran's crappy dial-up connection, but I have a decent connection at home and can start uploading on Thursday.

p.s. the run is good so there shouldn't be reason to reject it after working through all this.

Check the topic stuck at the top of this forum! You don't have to buy anything.

That's what I was saying about not understanding, I've never even heard of AIM or ICQ or anything like that.

I did read that topic, I'll try downloading some codecs as soon as possible and work at it till I get it right, but I may need help anyway, I suck!

So just give me a foolproof way of getting in touch and I'll send it tomorrow Smiley

Thanks a lot for this, but as I said I'm at my gran's and I don't want to clog her computer up.

Ok, I have broadband now and it is sweet.

In keeping with my n00bish ways I cannot find the huffuv.inf file in the folder which I need to install.
I simply have 'huffuv', 'readme' and 'huffuv.dll' which are unresponsive except the readme is telling me to install the file I don't have.

Almost there, just need to work out this one little thing...

the one which you list as "huffuv" is probably the required huffyuv.inf file. Windows likes to hide extensions. Just try right clicking on it and see if 'install' is available.

But ... you don't actually need huffyuv if you've already captured the video to an mpg file. Huffyuv is only used when you capture with virtualdub.
