Hey there, not sure where else to post this. I'm running Bishi Bashi Special at AGDQ which is a PSX game that was released as a PAL only title. We exclusively run it on emulator because of that and I know GDQs don't particularly like emulator runs. What would I need to bring to run my game on the GDQ setup without any issues?

Thanks in advance.

All the things
You will at the very least need the original game and console you want to run it on. We will have some NTSC PS2s available, but I think it's unlikely they would run a PAL game without technical issues, even with a universal loader. Beyond the game and console, we should be prepared to handle video/capture with no issues. An alternative is to acquire the JP version, which is NTSC.

If bringing your own console, remember that power conversion may also be a concern. Check your system's power specifications to make sure that it accepts both 50 Hz and 60 Hz inputs.
That was kind of the situation I was thinking we might be in. The JP version of Bishi Bashi Special is different from the PAL game, which is a collection of 2 different JP Bishi Bashi games. So swapping to the JP version is not an option I can really explore.

If the video capture can handle a PAL signal with no issues, it's looking like I might have to provide a PAL PSX and a PAL version of the game with a power converter. If I did that, do we know if the TVs at AGDQ are able to display both 50Hz and 60Hz without flickering?
Owner of World 9 Gaming...kupo!
I will be bringing a PAL ~20" CRT TV that will be available for use in the practice room or stream room. At the marathon you can ask me or any of the other World 9 Gaming staff about it at our staff table in the practice room.
