the test run is looking good, havent played this in years but to me the route seems good ... but the capture has a mad framedrop, what are you using to record this ?
Yup, it's from the CD rom. No emulators here. I made another attempt using the same route and got (roughly) 2:20. I'll need to check and see if that's faster than my first one.
Edit: It was an improvement from 2:40 to 2:20 using the same route.
im pretty sure the copyprotection on this game sucked so the reason i asked about the CD rom is that it may lag more because the CD rom isnt as fast reading as the harddrive, try copy the CD to the harddrive (insert CD, choose to explore it, select all files, right click and choose copy, make a folder somewhere and then paste all the files in that folder)
see if there is less lag when playing like this (from the harddrive and not the CD)
I haven't been working on this, but I'll get back to it eventually. I didn't get the OS Skin, but I'll find out where it came from and get back to you.
I loved Humongous Entertainment growing up. I never would've thought I'd see someone speed running Putt Putt on here =) If SDA doesn't accept it for being an adventure game, then http://www.adventure-speedruns.com/ would.

That site hasn't been updated in over a year, so I'm not sure if it's still active. SDA doesn't really turn away adventure games anymore. We have Myst now.
Getting video should be fairly simple with a VGA to S-video splitter/converter. Sound can be difficult though... You can splice something up yourself if you're feeling brave enough, or you can find a converter if sound can go through a sound card. If it's the onboard speaker that's used though, it requires some electronics knowledge, but still doable. Once you have everything going out in an RCA format you should just be able to hook it up to a DVD recorder or a capture card.

Wasn't quite sure. I looked it up after posting and didn't see anything against it, but I seemed to remember in the past it was a rule. Good to know =)
