I've noticed that if you copy a saved game from one Memory Card to the other, the timestamp of the saves gets updated to the date and time at which the copy was done.

Will this cause a problem for segmented runs?

The only reason I do the copy is just for back-up purposes (in case I accidentally overwrite my original).

Is it OK if the timestamps do not necessarily match from Video to Video?
Thread title:
This is the dumbest question I've ever seen.

Do the timestamps on the memory card file appear anywhere in the video?!

Amazingly, Yes. In the game I'm playing with, the timestamps are clearly visible during the saves and loads.

Thank you for your valuable insight.
Irregardless, the times you play do not have any impact on your play time.

My only concern is that it may "look" like I'm trying to cheat. (even though the timestamp would be the only wonky thing. all the other stats, etc... would be identical, obviously)

Just wanted to be sure before putting in a bunch of work. That's all.
Just for curiosity's sake, how could it possibly be possible to cheat in that way?

If the timestamp of the Save that you're saving is different from the one you're loading, then it's no longer visibly clear that they are the same game.

Assuming in the previous segment you're trying to stream-line everything, you'll be avoiding picking up unnecessary ammo, health, bonuses, etc....

If later you start up a new game, load up on stuff, then save at that same point - you'd be better off (although the different stats would be visible to anyone who took the time to look).

Or you could do the same thing, and try to set stuff up to make future progress easier than it otherwise would've been had you just continued with the original game.

But that's all beside the point.

All I'm asking is whether or not the copying the saved game and different time stamps is going to get people to accuse me of cheating.

That's it - just one simple question.
Okay, now I am sort of, sort of seeing the dilemma. But since each run is verified by someone who knows the game, they'd notice something wrong like that.

I apologize now, however, for the brashness in my responses.

It's cool.

As long as what you're saying is right, I'm happy.
