Hello all!
I've found this community via a friend who speedruns and I thought I'd try to tackle this.
In all value of legitimacy, I have a PS1 but I prefer playing them on a PS3 (easier to stream, too, believe it or not).

I've searched and found a couple of posts a few years old, but they talked about downloading games to the HHD of the PS3, not disc copies.
Does anyone know if this is considered alright by official rules if I do speed running in this fashion?

Thanks!

All the things
Playing PS1 games on PS3 is fine. As always, make sure you understand any pros and cons to playing on your medium of choice though. For example, loading times are generally less for PSN versions of PS1 games, but this may not always be true. There's certainly no rule that says you can't run on whatever platform you end up with.

For SDA submission purposes, the only concern is using original hardware or official emulators. The PS3's PS1 emulation is about as official as you can get, so no worries there.
Thanks for the information. I may just do original then to be as official as possible.
