Hi there : )
I use joequake and got dzip too, but when i try to read a marathon (using the "demos" menu in joequake) it starts unpacking and then i got an error message:

couldn't open C:/.../ne1_1131.dem
NET_getmessage: disconnected socket
======================
Host_Error: CL_ReadFromServer: lost server connection
======================
NET_Sendmessage: Disconnected socket

(btw is there any command to save console text as a .txt file ?)
Thanks in advance : )
Thread title:
I'm addicted to games
marathon's dont have a dem file in them that's named the same as the .dz like verything else. They have a pak file in them which contains a bunch of dem files like e1m1.dem e1m2.dem etc. Usually you'll want to do "playdemo start" but marathons dont always start on start.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
You'll need to extract the pak file to a separate folder. Ie. Stubbys last nightmare marathon. Extract to x:\quake\stubbz

Rename pak file to pak0.pak
then just start with x:\quake\joequake.exe -game stubbz
and start the first demo. playdemo e3m1 for example.

Or you can just use pakexplorer or something and dump the demos into whatever is your default gamefolder.

Joequake can only read .dem files from .dz files. And only if there's only 1 .dem file I think. Or it will only read the first .dem file or something. Cant remember.
Hey Ho Let's Go
...or you could extract the pak to the id1 directory and rename it to pak2.pak (assuming you already have pak0.pak and pak1.pak in there), then load Quake and type "playdemo e3m1" in the console.

Thanks for your help  : )
I chose Stubgaard's solution though, it's the more simple one and it worked !
so i have now pak0,1,2,3 (for each episode) in my id1 folder.
