I can't record the run due to time, however I will help anyone who decides to try. I am willing to give pieces of somewhat useful information right now.

-Starter would probably be Chimchar due to it's huge move pool with Fire/Fighting

-The first gym with Chimchar is annoying unless your Chimchar has evolved to get Mach Punch

-You get the Fist Plate ( Item that increases fighting moves attack power ) before the 4th ( or is it 5th? ) gym which is the water gym, it's -incredibly annoying gym, the Fist Plate makes it easier

-Like all other Pokemon games you can abuse Chimchar's ability by keeping is health though, making trainer encounters fairly easy

-Infernape/Giratina should be able to take down the Elite 4 by themselves

-Bibarel/Bidoof are good HM slaves ( I still can't find a surf slave though Unless Bibarel is one I only have a Bidoof )

I'm wondering if Turtwig/Piplup would be beneficial for this run, I can't see Turtwig having a problem with any gym except fire?

Anyway, discuss away!

Ive gone through this with a few others but I've always felt Milotic would slaughter Infernape
Let the music play!
I wouldnt say that. If you give Infernape an X-Attack, then use Close Combat it should be able to KO most Milotic of around the same level. Infernape also does have the option of using Grass Knot.

As for a HM slave, look no further than Bibarel. It can learn Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Smash, Waterfall and Rock Climb. You can grab one as early as Route 208. If you need a Cutter early, Bidoof also can learn it and Rock Smash, and evolves at L15.
Fire Emblem?
Also (slightly obvious but just in case), Starlys should be quick to catch and can learn Fly, which will be needed a few times.

Chances are, Chimchar won't have evolved by the first Gym. In fact, you'll probably be a lower level than normal as you'll be skipping as many battles as possible.

Water Gym is 5th in Platinum. His pokemon are level 33-37 (compared to 27-30 in DP).

Catching an early Bidoof for Cut & Rock Smash, Starly for Fly (& Defog, but that probably won't be used), then a Bibarel for Surf, Waterfall, Strength & Rock Climb seems sensible.

I'm tempted to say go for Turtwig. He learns EQ by level and Grass Knot by TM, what other useful moves does he get? Crunch covers some stuff, Return possibly for high damage against some types. Outrage, Seed Bomb and Superpower by Move Tutor are also options, but I don't know where those Tutors are (they might be Post E4, which would be useless). He gets SE attacks on Gyms 1, 3, 5 & 8 with the moves I said above, although Gym 2 (Grass/Poison) could be tricky. Snowpoint (7) could be tricky, but except Abomasnow he should be fine.

An old Platinum, Diamond and Pearl topic.
(Better to bump rather than making new ones all of the time)

You got to remember about Team Galactic Double Battles,
A dry skin Croagunk can absorb your team mate's Surf.
Kadabra can use Confusion against Zubats, Golbats, Croagunks and Toxicroak.

Ponyta is the only other Fire Pokemon other than Chimchar-> Infernape to be in the DP dex but
in the Pt dex, Magmar was added in the Fuego Ironworks (seems to be a better choice too)

Piplup & Prinplup learns Bubblebeam much earlier but learns Bide much later.

Apparently in route 222 you can get Electabuzz & Magneton from the wild grass.
Infernape can learn Grass Knot too just to let you know. Also with Fire/Fighting the steel/ice gyms are incredibly easy You need 2 Bibarels for HM slaves then and I am guessing Giratina would be used for the Ground Elite 4 and some of the Champs pokemon
