No More Monkeying Around!
I'm currently looking forward to setting up a small marathon event in late February for Playstation (1-4) exclusives. The exact date can be moved, but currently we are looking at the 20th through the 22nd, and are hoping to keep it around 40 hours. We are willing to include games not exclusive to Playstation as long as they were originally exclusive, or games where the fastest version runs on a Playstation system.
We set the date a few months in advance to give us enough time to properly set everything up. The main event will be hosted at http://www.twitch.tv/playstation_marathon. We will be using this Hitbox channel: http://www.hitbox.tv/playstation-marathon for the runners to stream to, and we will use that as a source for the Twitch stream to reduce some of the down-time that is frequently seen on re-streaming setups. This has the added bonus of keeping setup issues on a separate stream to the one people are watching.
I would like this event to raise money for some cause. However, due to my lack of experience in the matter I would appreciate some help with this.. It would be nice if we could raise money for SDA, assuming the staff are okay with it.
Anyone who has any advice, or would like to offer suggestions, please do. We are looking for anyone who would like to help us out with streaming the main event. We currently have a small group willing to cycle in and out to keep the marathon alive. I am willing to stay up for the whole marathon if the need arises, however I would like to have some support, and some coffee, just in case.
