We all scream for Eyes Cream
I'd love to go but unfortunately money isn't really available for me. I might host a donation stream to raise money for the trip, otherwise I wouldn't bet on me going for now. If I do get the money  to go though, then I can do the following games.

Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes: Story Mode as a few specific characters. Of the specific characters, people can donate for which I'll play, as well as story mode paths. If Flicky goes and wants to, we could do 2 Player Co-Op on Story Mode.

Megaman Legends: We've had the regular Megaman series, the X series, and now someone should bring the Legends series to an SDA Marathon. I'm only willing to do 1 since I haven't played 2 in a while and probably wouldn't be able to do it, though I could try if I practice enough.

Devil May Cry 3: This time with less controller problems. Tongue Dante or Vergil as possible donation choices.

Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories: Only if it's not actually done at the summer marathon. Riku only but I'll take donations for difficulty. Beginner = Faster and Easier, Proud = Harder and Slower but well worth it.

Castle Crashers: Doubt it but I wanna join in. Yes I've played the game and I can do the juggling quite well. Unfortunately I won't be able to practice online since I can't access XBL.

The Demon Rush: Semi-serious. It would be nice to see though and since the thread is getting attention it could happen. Tongue

I'd like to see a Tales game at the marathon but since it's a very lengthy RPG(7-9 hours depending on what game is played) there's no point for obvious reasons.

SEGA Junkie
I'm honestly not sure I will be able to get the time off work, but I'm going to come up anyway. Last year I missed it way too much. Tongue

Put me down as a lock for Sonic 3 (1 hour), but depending on how scheduling goes I could also do any of the following:
Sonic 1 (only if it's a race with stanski, otherwise it's not really worth it) - 25-30 minutes
Rocket Knight Adventures if we're doing that again - 35 minutes
Pokemon Blue no major skips - 2:20
Desert Strike - 30 minutes, this is a complete guess because I haven't even so much as beaten the game yet
DKC3... hah, yeah right.
Maybe some other games in the future?

Also, shoutout to Trek, because we're probably not going to get our Banjo Kazooie race: I will definitely race you off stream at some point.

I'll be there.

My feelings on The Demon Rush
Please consider that I am not going over what games should be in the marathon in this topic. I will create a separate topic for games later. This topic is just to give people more specifics about when the next marathon is happening, and input on the date or anything else relevant to the marathon.

Wow at this rate it looks like we might get double the attendance of AGDQ. I was expecting at least 80 people, and I know AGDQ attendance was double that of CGDQ, but it's still a pleasant surprise. And it looks like the name is Awesome Games Done Quick 2. Those ideas of tying it in with a title or adding the subtitle, "Awesome Games Done Quicker."

I think what people are missing is that if we start on Tuesday, our setup day will be Monday, because we need at least one day to setup and get acclimated. And yes, I know Monday is January 2nd.

Emptyeye: Yes, if we start a week later then we risk cutting into people's school schedules. I know right after New Year's is bad for some people's work schedules, but that's why I'm warning about six months in advance.

Dragondarch: When I saw your post, at first I thought I posted. D:

UraniumAnchor: I know 5 people will most likely end up with someone sleeping on the floor, but at least they'll have space to sleep on the floor. Tongue

Trekhaak: haha nice
I survived MIKE-Fest 1
I like the Quicker idee but it will be harder to go with this system for 3,4,5,.., n+1

Please set the date in stone ASAP I don't really care Monday or Tuesday but the tickets are way cheaper as sooner you buy them and my money is no longer infinity like last for 2 years :-(

one thought for the game problem why you just like 2/3 of the games and people chose one to run the rest are handelt like last marathon with suggesting games and the dictator choose.
Also I think everyone should consider that his game even when it is the best game in the world in his/her opinion may not ending on the list because there like 80 people coming no everyone can ran some game (hope there will be more races then)

Exoray
Sweden will be represented again.

Wednesday seems best as start date. More time to prepare = less rushed start.
Also plane tickets will prolly be cheaper the further away from New Years we get.

Windowless room works fine, just get a clock. Having a shifting light source will harm more than it will gain us in terms of stream quality
waifus are laifu
I said this same thing for the summer marathon back during first planning stages, but I'd like to go. Of course it's still really iffy where I'll even be come January, but considering my luck right now I'll probably still be in the same area.

I like the "quicker" name too, but I guess we should go with 2 and make it a series. Or call it "AGDQ2: Done Quicker". Starting either day is fine, since I don't really celebrate on New Years so I'll be capable of traveling Tongue
Any australians thinking of going?

Hmm, looking at the cost and time required, I guess not. ~20 hours in flights to get there and costing ~1.8k or so each way.
I agree with Arrow on this one, in just calling the Winter Marathon "Awesome Games Done Quick" rather then adding the numbers. The way to tell the difference would be the year.  but of the two choices, AGDQ2.

As for the charity, while cancer is never a bad choice, there are other charities that could really benefit from something like this, like the ALS Association.  I guess I just feel that the charity chosen should change each marathon.

The date, I agree in getting away from New Years, so Wednesday would be better.  If anyone needs to leave for school/work on Monday, put their games first.

I would like to make it to the main winter event, but it's a 13-14 hour drive for me, and I'd rather not fly, so we'll see. plus I'd need to work up another game(s) since Lara Croft GoL didn't seem to be that big of a hit for JRDQ.
Goatragon!
My roommate and I definitely plan on coming this year.  For the two of us, the day probably won't make too much of a difference, though I do agree that the further away from New Years, the better.
Arrested for felony abuse of emotes
I know I'm kind of a stalker here, but I'd love to go.  Not that I have anything to speedrun, I just like hanging out with people and I'd love to get into the community more. :3

Money would be the biggest problem, and I tend to work as Inventory Specialist during the holidays, so we'll see. ><

YESSSS!!!!! Perhaps I'll even practice BK to get in on this racing business. <3

I've been saving for this all year!

and even if i don't end up playing anything i can still be useful by bringing a ton of consoles since I will drive there again. Save some of you flyers a little weight maybe.

3-way BK race will happen

I personally think it's better to cap off the weekend with a bang rather than roll into Monday when people have to work and the under-18 demographic has school.  Of course, we might end up rolling into Monday anyway...

We can make sure to schedule people's games earlier in the weekend if they have to leave early for school, etc. My personal vote is for starting Wed.

T'was thinking more about the viewership than the people playing the games.  I imagine anyone who's going will be fully prepared to take off whatever work they would have to to make it happen.

On that note, put me down for a maybe.  I'd like to go, but I also have to figure out exactly how much vacation time I need for everything else I have to do during the year.
Visually Appealing
I'll definitely be there hook or by crook. I'll even offer to come on down early to help set stuff up.

And I would have picked the name Awesomer Games Done Quickerer.
Willing to teach you the impossible
AGDQ2, as it can easily help viewers know how long we have been doing this and also helps with naming the following marathons.

I am sorry for my lack of attendance for the summer marathon, I needed the break and I don't really wanna burn out my few games for the viewers. So only going to the winter marathon will help my longevity for the marathons.

Love the PCF again, we got an amazing turn out last year and I expect that we get yet another great turn out.

About the 4-H center... Can we get a request that the security guy chills out while we loan and unload out stuffs so we dont have to walk across the entire property? Really that guy was less than rational. Besides that, I like this idea as well. One more note, more battery back ups just in case? We crashed the place last year...

I know this is not a game thread, but DK, a co-op of Contra is HARD unless there is a bunch of practice. All of the timings are WAY diff than solo. If this does go threw, It needs to be late in the marathon so we can have time to practice to be at least presentable, or we just race. Please wait till a game thread comes up to continue to chat about this one though.

Personal request, and I am more than willing to help with expenses on this too. Can some one let Frezy know about this? I know he has a family to support and work along with that (plus time off money lost from taking time off work), but I really do want to meet him. I will be willing to help cover any expenses for him (I know it is expensive, and I doubt I am the only one who wants him to be there as well). Moooh, could you PM me a rough total for your trip? I am sure it will be roughly the same or at least give me an idea.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Moooh: Whether we start on Tuesday or Wednesday has no bearing on the amount of prep time we have, because we're going to have a prep day before the marathon.

Heidman: I would love to contact Frezy, but I'm not sure if he's online anymore. I guess the best bet would be contacting him on facebook.

I will shoot him a PM, but the other times I have, I have not received a response. And I will link this thread.

Edit: Here is the msg I sent to him.

Hay, I would love to meet you in person. Next years SDA charity marathon is going to be the first week of Janurary. I would love it if you were able to come. I know you have a family now and I know you are busy because of that, as well supporting your family. I am willing to help with money in any way I can. Plane ticket, houseing, food, loss of time at work, anything.

There has been some chat about you as of late in SDA in a few threads.

Here is the marathon thread: http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/planning_the_next_awesome_games_done_quick_47.html

Here is a thread when your named popped up not to long ago: http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/contra_nes48.html

I really hope to hear from you about this.

I'm more of an advocate of the "Bring Frezy to the States Fund" than seeing "Heidman Spends All of Carcinogen's Rent Money on Frezy as Awesome as it Would Be: The Game!" play out.

Either way, I'm an obvious addition to the headcount. AGDQ2, anytime.

I'd be willing to kick in a bit to the Frezy Fund, assuming money is his main hurdle.
