Planning the next Awesome Games Done Quick

I know I'm relatively new here and that I'm not all that active, but I'm considering going to the marathon. I'm not really much of a speedrunner (yet), but I think it would be fun to actually meet all of you and watch the marathon live. I have also been working on the Link's Awakening glitched run that rom did at the last AGDQ and I could probably practice some other Zelda games like Ocarina or whatever.

But right now, I'm swamped with MCAT prep, shadowing, and I just got a new job that I'm starting tomorrow. So if I do get a chance to really practice by the end of the summer, I'll probably be able to come. If not, I might just come to hang out and watch the marathon live. I live in NJ, so I'd probably be able to drive down for a few days.

As for the name, I like the idea of keeping it as AGDQ and just using the year as the identifier.

Yeah, but you also have to get some paperwork setup (aka the marriage license) with the courthouse a few days beforehand (I'm not sure if MD has a waiting period). But if we're not doing a "legal" marriage, then there's nothing to worry about for any of that legal mumbo jumbo. And then we can just have a good time with that.

I think MTI would be a good officiator, but I could do it too. Tongue

There's also some licenses that are only applicable for certain states. My cousin wanted our uncle to marry her, but he was only considered "official" in Kentucky. She was getting married in Indiana and found out that if he officiated it, the marriage wouldn't be considered legal. Then again, this was 10 years ago, maybe longer?

SMK: I'd be down for a Tales of Symphonia run, although that seems a lot more like a bonus stream than a marathon game. After all there's about as much unskipable cutscenes as there is actualy playing in a run, that wouldn't make a good watch. If you need a fourth person I could practice, though, been meaning to play through the game again.

I want to make it to the marathon, but right now I'm not sure it's possible.

I'm should almost positively be there, although hopefully I won't have to leave early this time.
I can run Dr. Mario 64 and THPS2 again, although if you wanted new stuff I have other things I would like to do:
Yoshi's Story: 20 minutes (horribly long estimate, should be able to easily beat my SDA time with the new route)
Duke Nukem 1: 10 minutes (Don't know how many people would wanna see this again after I did it for bonus stream, but it is short and can add system variety)
If DK28 does SSB I would race his DK against mine Tongue

Also I challenge everybody to Mario Party. Bring it.

I'd like to come as well. I can run Sonic 1 (currently I do not all of it down to marathon-standard, damn starlight zone boss...), and if there is a Mario Kart 64 race I could join in since I can do most of the lap skips consistently. I plan on practicing a couple games over the summer, but those are the ones I have more or less down. I would be willing to go without running anything, I could help out with chat stuff or find some way to entertain if necessary.

Indeed, its been a bit of a running joke that pretty much any tales game will not be playable at a marathon due to length and boringness. That being said I kinda like the bonus stream idea...

If I do go, I would run MGS: Twin Snakes, Mega Man X, and Super Metroid.

I want to see an FF7 run at the marathon. That would be awesome. By the way, I talked to the fam, and they said I could go. My brother might be tagging along also, but he's a cool cat.

If I make it, which I hope to do, I will also play Mario Party. I presume we are talking about the first analog-stick-spinning Mario Party, which none of my friends want to play with me anymore because I wreck them.
