I've been working on casually speed running this game (Only because my computer can't handle recording) and was wonder if anyone else was playing this game, let alone running it. I've gotten my BBQ Party (Level 1) down to a nice 2:57 (starting timer when I select my character and ending at leaving the score screen.
Thread title:
I've been playing this quite a bit (still awful at it though) and had it in mind for a potential speedrun.

One thing I did find, before they patched it, was that when you have a weapon with a cooldown (poison, smoke bomb, stun grenade...) and you pick up another weapon, the cooldown resets. In one level I was running around like a maniac spamming smoke bomb into stun grenade into smoke bomb. Nothing could touch me; it was pretty great. So if you could get hold of an earlier patch that would make things a lot easier (under the right conditions of course).

I'll probably try my hand at some of the earlier levels at some point soon.
Cool, I didn't know that. I don't quite know how to stay on the earlier patch (I'm still learning all of this stuff), but I think that would be a really good idea over all. Some of the later patches have seemed to change up the rng of what happens during some of the levels, which has been annoying while trying to run this game.
Yeah if you could somehow get hold of the release patch, I think that would be your best bet. In most cases you can just replace some files with older ones and that does the trick, but you'd need to get them somehow. Might be worth looking into if you can find a pirated version just for these.
That will be something to look into, though if there is a legal way to do it, I would prefer it personally.

On a side, I'm going to be sitting down and doing rng charts for the traps on BBQ Party soon, so I'll get that up as soon as I can.
I'm also considering speed-running this game (casually for now, because my PC is a piece of crap).

I'm wondering if Katie could potentially be faster than the default dude. The reason being is that I noticed that while she has to kick people to stun them before applying the knife, the kick raises no suspicions whatsoever. You can stun any potential witnesses before going in for kills. But I've gotta figure out what the optimal maximum amount of stunned people is.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I was thinking something along the same lines when it comes to Katie, and for certain levels I remember her being godlike, for others she might just be too slow I don't know. On stages with different elevations (for instance a pool) you can massacre everyone without being noticed and she'd be garbage for that.
Care to destroy the Sieges of Life?
I would make a chiche one-liner about whether all of you being here is coincidence or not. But I think we all have a common desire to speed run this game...

Kate has advantage because she can work with repeating quick kill traps (ledges, that eye/mouth thing on the alien level). So maybe Neon Top Party, Pool Party and Peace Date levels would be advantage Kate. The downside is that her kick has a significantly shorter stun period than sleeping does so there is less room to work with.

But I did some playing around and I noticed that if you play the cop you have the ability to assign an arrest marker. Once the real cops have arrested someone you can marker someone else and the cops will arrest them at the same time. Could be an advantage on some levels too but I have only done it once while playing around so I will try for some consistency in that trick.
