THIS RUN CONTAINS SECRET WORLDS
The still image that YouTube chose for part 27 is perfect. Excellent job with enduring almost 100 resets (honestly, I'm surprised you didn't have to reset this much when practicing the random Jump Attack segments).
Oh I'll have to reset much more for those I promise you, I don't remember exactly how many resets it took but it was a couple hundred (plus I didn't reset if one was bad, I was doing 2-3 games per attempt.)

I'm posting just as a heads up for anyone who is still paying attention here: On Monday I hope to upload segments 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32 onto youtube, hopefully by the end of Monday I'll post them all here for anyone who wishes to look, but if you keep an eye on youtube you'll be able to catch them earlier. I'll be doing homework/school then and will hopefully have them to upload. Hopefully the week after I'll get segments 33-37 (gambling segments) uploaded and then onto chapter 7!
Ok, so next Monday I may not have the next series of videos out. I'd love to have them, but I want to upload all of the Jump Attack games at once, and at the rate this first one is going, thats not going to happen in a week. Sorry.

Anyway here are 5 videos that I got. The rest of chapter 6 is in here. There is a neat little trick that I use in segment 30, otherwise not really much out of the ordinary. Still pretty cool seeing all of the stuff in Flower Fields I guess. It does have alot of hidden things.

That Trickey jump in segment 30 was a neat little time saver. I would've never thought about that. Not much to say here but at the beginning of 30 is that you or is the game lagging before the pause because I saw you stand there for about a half second. It could Just be the game and it isn't much so no big deal.
It was me, I don't like spamming the start button to reach the menu, sometimes I hit Start at a bad time and that's just the wait for me to notice that its the menu not opening and not lag.

The trick is really easy actually, it just requires the correct position, and there are a bunch of them for that ledge, the hardest part is the initial jump, you want to do a medium hop with a movement off the top ledge at the end, and then basically not move any further out, if you do it right you will hit the bottom ledge because of how curves are designed on the N64, there is a lot of walkable ground that is basically air. I also always start holding toward the mountain after I go off the ledge, it doesn't help with getting the trick in the least, but it makes me feel safter to know that once I hit the ground I'll move into the ledge instead of off it.

Another trick I was working on was a Parakarry clip I noticed. If you can get Mario's waist at a ledge height for a wall or something you can clip up to the top of the platform. I was attempting to do that for the puzzle path *the top right one* because then I could skip the sun tower *although nothing else, you still need to get Lakilester* Sadly I could only glitch up one platform, I cant seem to do it for any  others.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I really like how this run is turning out, Raiker.  Seeing lots of good strategies, too. :3

I'm sorry guys, I'll be delayed with the next few videos, something has distracted me from even attempting the videos for now, and now youtube/googletube is being a brat about forcing me to make an account because the one I have (that I never created) is already used by another youtube account (that I never/don't remember creating) so even when I do get the videos I'll have to fight that.

If you wondering why the videos are delayed I need to beat the 9 block jump-attack game and earn around 500 coins or so on the first one, loads of fun there. (No wonder I got distracted constant failure after 6-8 blocks really doesn't make you want to continue) I'll get working on them soon (hopefully sometime during spring break) and hopefully finish the latest in Paper Mario delays soon.

Oh, and just a reminder to anyone who forgot, I have to consistantly be over 450 coins after the game, there are roughly 5 segments of this, and the last one I need to end with over 640 coins (after purchasing the last badge). Just in case anyone thought that it was only one segment of gambling that is the delay.

EDIT: Youtube is forcing me to make a google account to link or whatnot. Someone/something told me google is now partners/owners of youtube, doesn't make a difference to me, either way I'm being forced to do something stupid to continue using youtube. I thought I should clear up my first paragraph a little.
Google has owned YouTube for 4 and a half years but has been slow to integrate it into its brand (possibly because of the continued existence of Google Video).
hey hey hey!!
woah, this run is really getting finished. The routes you have used are a lot better than the ones I tried to use. =P Good luck on the rest of the run, I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
i've made a huge mistake
Oh man I posted in this thread years ago about this run haha, and its finally being done. I need to catch up on all of your segments you've done, I'm sure it will be a fantastic watch. Good luck finishing
hey hey hey!!
I'm watching now and it is TIGHT!
Thanks, I should be working on it again in a week or so, just distractions and all, its spring break Tongue I know google/youtube have been partners for years, but until now them being jerks about requiring a google account hasn't bugged me that much, I mean I used to easily just watch video's without an account, but not being able to upload will cause a problem when I want to update the segments.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
It's not that bad.  Only takes a few seconds.  Hell, I just made my account at Google the same one I have for Youtube.  Takes less than a minute. :3
I fixed it up, I went to google accounts and recovery to get the google account, then I went to youtube and deleted the account that was linked to it and linked IzikiZara to the google account, so I guess I reclaimed/stole a google account I may or may not have made and deleted an account on youtube that a friend had made for me years ago Wink

In other news I decided to look for a pattern in the jump attack game. Sad news if there are any the developers did a good job. After 100 tests (on project 64) I had no repeats, and I could only find a few patterns that don't occur 100%. So... I have figured 2 ways that I can go about jump attack: 1) Go completely random and hope for the best... or 2) Go in a pattern and wait until it pays off. Right now I've chosen option 2 because it's the faster option, going random means thinking about where to jump next, while the pattern one I can just break blocks until Bowser doesn't show up.

Now a random question which I hope people will answer. I'm thinking about making a bonus video about the optional boss fights. This includes: Buzzar, Kent C. Koopa, Lee, Chan, Master 1, 2, and 3, and the anti guy squad. I'm not counting anti guy or the additional blooper fights because I'll be doing those regardless. The main downside to them would be that Lee/Chan/Buzzar would be fought way out of reasonable timing (Like Buzzar after chapter 6/7 would stand a chance) but still I think it could be a cool little bonus that I can put up and that I could send in (Hey they have bloopers as bonus' right? why not optional bosses?). Just wondering what you all think, I could try to edit something like that together since killing them shouldn't take to long (Maybe master 3, but I have plans for 2 and 3 that may not be the fastest, but saves luck manipulation of the gods).

Anyway, working on segment 33-37 now, hopefully they will be done soon. Wish me luck I'll need a ton of it for these parts, especially 37 ish, since I need to end with 640+ after buying the badges. (Reasonably anything over 620 will do, since white clubba's drop coins after they are scared away, but that still means I need to end at above 900 coins probably)
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Good luck, dude.  I've seen most of the 32 segments on your Youtube, and they look awesome.  And they are highly entertaining.
Good news, bad news, and news to make me cry!

Good news: I now have segments 33-37 recorded!

Bad news: I won't be getting them on youtube until Monday, at the earliest, the reason leads me to...

News to make me cry:

In segment 37, I needed to win Jump Attack with a total of 915 or more coins, now on my 7th try I happened to get really freaking lucky, and finished the segment. Then after the segment I realized I missed THE ONLY PART OF THE SEGMENT THAT I COULDNT FORGET ABOUT! I got up to 999 coins, bought the final 3 badges in the store, delivered 2 letters, got a star piece and upgrade block only to forget to go to Merlon. I need to go there to open a pipe/door *I forget which* in order to reach penguinland. After 30 or so more tries something hit me, why not do some trivial thing that brings me close to Merlon? So I came up with a plan, but now because of this and because the Sushi glitch in Shiver City, I'm going to end up... REWORKING EVERY ENDING SEGMENT. The reason the videos will be delayed is because I now need to rework a route to finish up chapter 7/intermission. Hopefully I can do this within two days easy, the big issue is remembering to get everything since I will be passing A LOT of stuff because of the Sushi glitch, and I will be taking a different path after Rip Cheato since I won't need to use Goomba Path anymore. I think this may cost me a little time rather then using the route I've planned, but I'll give you three good reasons why I don't care: 1) The total time lost is MAYBE 20 seconds, and if I can manipulate a Quizmo into even one trip to Goombaland I come out on top. 2) Sushi Glitch saves up to two minutes for 100% so not like the small time loss won't be made up for 3) The statistical chance of beating jump attack 9-block is 1.82% that number includes amounts smaller then 402 coins (Which is the minimum I need to recieve in 37). Short of the semi useless visit to Goomba Village after chapter 7, I can't think of why not just rework the route, and like I said, now I have a chance to manipulate two quizmos instead of one (If that, manipulating quizmo in the planned segment would be hard, now I make one easy one, and one mediocre one)
My name is unpronounceable
So, let's see if I've got this straight.

Awesome work on the segments, but neglected to complete a plot point.  The plan is to tough it out, and work the remaining segments around this.  If Quizmo can be manipulated to appear, the time difference is somewhere between negligible to better.  Furthermore, there will be better chances to manip quizzes this way.

Sounds good to me.  I haven't shown my support before, but you have it completely.  Good luck!
Really? I think you were helping me out earlier on before I started recording. Anyway, yes you got it right, but I have new information about that.

I still don't plan to upload until Monday, but I think I fixed the route, and now it includes the Sushi glitch. I'll be triple checking that I remembered everything before I start making attempts/uploading the videos. From what my new plan is though I lose no time by visiting Goomba Village a second time, originally I planned to stop to save on Yoshi Island because of the two blooper fights in a row along with some semi-difficult dodging, but because of my nice new route I can skip Yoshi Island, and I still get one extra attempt to manipulate a quiz (only one attempt, but each quiz not during quiz segments is ~10 second save) so hopefully I get at least two quizzes instead of just one. So now I just need to make sure I didn't forget a badge/starpiece in the route plan and then I'm perfectly fine with my accidental mistake. I think I may even end up with one less segment too. Only bad part is now I can't compare my times with my speed test times until after chapter 7, but as of right now I'm 20 ish minutes ahead of planned, sadly during the 33rd segment I finally pass the any% completion time. So for 100% after chapter 6 is where any% finishes.

Also for a little fun news, I'm not going to link on here because I'll be posting the full video soon enough, but I uploaded the Jump Attack part of segment 34. I got 862 coins in it. Just something cool to see if you want to its not a long video.
I bring you underage gambling! Sponsored by Nintendo! I'll let the inanity of these segments speak for themselves.

On a different note, I will hopefully upload segments 38-39 later tonight, and the rest of the week I'll hopefully be able to finish up chapter 7, the only segments that should give me trouble are segment 40 (Sushi Glitch) and segment 42 (White Clubba Scare). Those will cost me a lot of time to get, I also think they will be the worst quality in terms of gameplay, just because of how much can go wrong after the luck issue, but as long as there are no major time killers, a slightly worse play quality is ok for a segment or two.

38 - I fix my mistake, and kill a blooper, hope you enjoy.

39 - I take out the strongest blooper and solve a mystery.

40 - There is no other way to put this, I cheat, badly.

41 - I do the starting part of the crystal palace, nothing special.

42 - I decide to be ugly here, sorry its not a horrible time loss, but it isn't great looking.

43 - I make up for segment 42 by being awesome.

I've had some of these since the weekend, I was planning to upload them throughout the week, but my segment 43 was almost flawless, and 40 has the glitch so... I couldn't wait. 44-45 should be done by the end of the week, and then its Quizmo for a bit.

Why do I feel like the only one posting anymore? Oh right... I am Tongue anyway I plan to do work Thurs-Sunday on the Quizmo Segments but here is the Rip Cheato Segment and Koopa Koots last stand.

By the way I'd like to mention I'm over half an hour ahead of my practice run Cheesy hopefully I finish Quizmo before the 5 hour mark Cheesy
i don't really like watching segments as they roll out but i do plan to watch your entire run when it's done, raiker. looking forward!
Personally, I'm quite enjoying the run so far!  Very good planning, and I think you're putting a great balance between optimization and leniency for a run of this length.  I'm confident that you can finish this as a solid run. Smiley
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Hey!  The Mythbusters were wrong!  Apparently trees do explode when frozen...As long as they're whacked with a hammer three times! xD

This run looks very good thus far.  And I've seen some interesting stuff.
I advise ignoring the first video I'm going to post, its just 30 minutes of Chuck Quizmo. I combined all the segments so that I didn't spam youtube/this thread with 19 useless segments. Also a few days ago I could upload videos longer then 15 minutes so thats why I could do this ^.^

I have about 5 segments left, but that may stretch into 6 because one of them involves alot of annoying tricks. As of the end of this series of videos I'm 39 minutes ahead of planned. So my ending time is around 5:41, but all of my ending segments are guesses for time, so I'm hoping for anything under 5:40.

Lastly thanks all you, cyghfer has a good plan of ignoring the bad segments (42, every segment in my first video) and watching the fun ones. I hope to finish these by the end of April, but these last segments are rather difficult, so it may take longer, I have some required fights, the worst enemy dodges, and a lot of tricky things to do (like an entire room in the dark)

If your desperate to see every quiz I merged segments 46-64

A real segment:
