My mistake.  I thought someone was mentioning that TSA might consider skipping the hookshot in this run.  In that case it might work out that its faster to go to forest temple as a kid, but it would have to be after dodongos (have bombs) but before getting the lullaby.  That would (in theory) have the advantage of skipping the minuet cutscene or the saria cutscene.  If you're skipping the hookshot it would make sense to do that as a kid... but if not you're still probably losing time that way over just dealing with the minuet and hooking in.

First of all, the Saria's Song cutscene is longer than the Minuet cutscene. You can't avoid both. Second, there is ZERO advantage to doing Forest as a kid. If you're not doing Bottle Adventure, you have to get the Hookshot, and bomb-hovering to enter Forest takes way too long. If you're going for Bottle Adventure, you'll have to beat Forest, and you can't do that as a child without the game freezing up.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
as I said, my mistake.  I thought someone had found a way to actually beat the game (without bottle adventure) without hookshot.  Also, I would think that you could, even if its not useful, get into the temple without either of those cutscenes.  You'd have to have bombs as a kid and go there before getting zelda's lullaby.  Clearly getting in there as a child is useless though so sorry I brought it up.

You can avoid Saria cutscene without learning the lullaby, still there is no advantage to it. It still might be worth skiping in a TAS since bomb hovers could be done in a optimal way espeacially if there is bombchu's at the disposal

Here was the old problem... BOMBS. You can't refill them in the forest temple anywhere. Not from enemies, not from jars. Nothing. So... you have to make sure you have enough bombs when you get in to be able to get up those 2 blocks. That is the difference. But using the staircase method, we can probably save like 4 more bombs which should be enough I believe.

Um.. when I went to the forest temple as a kid I didn't have lullaby yet and I don't remember seeing that cutscene. Just so you know.
AKA - what bombchus would we have? We'd have to restock to have more. We have just enough to get through dodongo's  optimally and to use one for the moat and 1 for the jabu jabu miniboss skip... or none for the moat and 2 for the miniboss since the TAS would like 2 there otherwise you have to lose time waiting for the platform or just using bombs anyways... meaning that you'd still save time doing lullaby after dodongo's and using the bombs to cross the moat.

but yeah only timesaving when skipping hookshot.
Don't think!  feeeeeal
Couldn't you do gannon early with bomb hovers, and then prolly do something like side hop at the end to save time?

I redid my video called "Dodongo's Cavern Tricks 2".  It now has better strategies for the tricks used in Dodongo's Cavern.  I also included the ground jump off the jar in this video.  Cheesy

Also, tell me what you think of the quality of the video.  I just got a DVD Recorder so I'm wondering if it's a good one and if I'm doing everything correctly.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Good tricks, good quality video. For a DVD recorder, do you have to get a crapload of blank discs, or can you use the same ones over and over?
Speed is the key.
If you buy DVD-RW's, you can use the same ones over and over. When I'm recording, I'm always recording the the built in hard drive. Then I copy to discs.
Jealousy™
I know most of you already think it, but I can now wholeheartedly agree that I'm the stupidest person on the planet. I feel like I've just tried to make a robust randomization algorithm even better by adding random operations to it.

I finally did deku skip, thanks TSA.

P.S. Superslide sucks T.T  <3
He's back!
I don't know if this beats TSA's ruppee run, but here is a failed attempt at an SS from last night.

Argh, I'm thinking of just getting a cheap-o TV tuner. <_< DVD recorders and all those other things are expensive.
... oO;
Get a Capture Card. I believe the one TSA uses (to record his videos) only cost him $50 dollars.

I remade my video titled "Shadow Early - New Way".  It's now better quality and I also included me walking the seam instead of just getting onto the seam.

Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
very nicely done

hello there
*slaps forehead*

Assuming you've downloaded the .m64 file and not the 434MB AVI (which is H.264-encoded as far as I know, which should function in VLC player), let me make one thing clear - .m64 is not a conventional video file format. It is a set of instructions readable by an N64 emulator which overrides the keypad entry function and acts out pre-recorded inputs. In layman's terms, when you open it in an N64 emulator, the file tells the emulator how to move Link around (without requiring human input), akin to a speedrun. You'll need to download Mupen64 and a ROM image of Ocarina of Time (which I can't supply for legal reasons). Otherwise, you could just download the AVI over BitTorrent, although I would only recommend it if you have a fast internet connection (i.e. broadband) and a bit of patience.

Thank you, and have a nice day.
