probably not...... but then again if you don't kill the keese then you can just use the ztarget method for swordglitch on them instead of the bomb...

Oh and ganondorf w/ that sword glitch isn't hard to do at all... Smiley with all the slowdown you have plenty of time. just practice somewhere where you can do them easily like kakariko graveyard against poes or something. Ya, ganondorf gets owned. Just jumpslash early and then crouchstab and then ztarget and press c-up to make navi talk. then you just stand there (and press forward a little once in a while so you don't start doing idle animations).

Okay so easiest 100% success ganondorf tactics (single cycle) are:
(spawn in center)
1. Roll to use invincibility frames to soak up the 1st groundpound (you are still on the platform)
2. Backrun and grab edge
3. Climb up (no waiting is necessary before climbing up) but don't draw your sword or press forward at all.
(ganondorf throws fireball  [this always works])
4. wait till he reels back and throws it then draw your sword vertically. It will reflect it back. (it should hit almost every time provided it isn't some very rare reflection where he still counters in time... then you will have to hit it again)
5. Shoot him w/ light arrow
6. Immediately jumpslash (if you are now behind him then turn around to face him.
7. do a crouchstab and then press Z and C-up to make navi talk. (when done properly you will have activated the sword glitch. Practice this)
8. Stand there and kill him. I reccomend pressing slightly to the sides or forwards every little bit, as to avoid link's idle animations which can make him move his sword away from where it needs to be (which can let him escape).

For those who is intrested... My new Segment 2 for my OOT Emulated speedrun is up on Youtube...

well if you call THIS a speedrun....
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
What happened to my Avatar?

Also, what's the deal with this emulated speedrun?  are you TASing or just speedrunning on an emulator?
Speed is the key.

Yeah.  You're getting better.
He's back!
That looks like PJ64, since there is no 6 second white screen. Its a start, although I'm a good 30 seconds quicker on average, but you'll get there eventually.

Are you using a keyboard or pad converter.
No the Quail is not riding the Q

I found an interesting short time saver in the Deku Tree. After you have done the Deku skip off the skulltula, if you walk directly to the web you will stop at the edge of the hole. You can then deactivate the sword glitch and grab onto the edge going through the web in the process and drop off it onto the floor below. Sometimes this glitch doesn't work and you will be able to walk on top of the web. I haven't found a way to get the glitch working 100% of the time but it works most of the time.

In other news I watched TSA's second part of the Deku tree. I estimate that about 50 seconds could be taken off it without too much difficulty. I understand that TSA is busy and all and the Deku Tree is an annoying dungeon but that segment really wasn't good enough in my eyes. Unfortunately, I don't have any means of capturing a run but I could go over all the places where time could be saved without adding unnecessary risk to it.

Edit: I was talking about the second web that you break before the room with the three Deku scrubs. You can go straight through that web instead of having to jump off the block and lighting the deku stick. It only saves five or so seconds but it is also easier than lighting the stick.

"50 seconds" wow, 50? Idk. maybe 20 or so.

FIERCE - you are insane.   8)

Xenos -  if you waste the time to activate the sword glitch up top... why would you even deactivate it? Just do 2 jumpslashes off the vinewall and do it down below, or do it up top and then backflip shoot the skulltula and then backflip down to the web and get down below w/ the sword glitch active already. Those are both faster than activating sword glitch 2 times.

Fluffy - mmm..mmm... cucco.  Oh, and quoting the post w/out the image is one of the smartest things i've ever seen in a forum. good job.

Faster and easier way to do the moat skip without a Bombchu:

I know you like my sexy pet Cucco at the end.

Edit: Acryte, get on AIM when you read this.  I'm bored...

Edit2: Sorry Acryte...  I never had my speakers loud enough.  Trillian needs a louder notification sound.

Xenos - Ok, now I understand what you are saying, but I can't get stuck... so I can't seem to do it. I tried walking, backflipping on the web, and jumping form higher up too.

I doubt 50 seconds could be saved without the aid of an emulator.  Does the TAS even beat my second Deku Tree segment by 50 seconds?

Anyway, no new progress.

I have to redo 11 because I saw the 1 Bomb trick.  That will save some time, since I take my sweet time with the bomb staircase method.
I hope I haven't downloaded an older version of the video somehow. In a speedrun I was doing, I got 2:34 for the second half of the Deku tree from the moment I gain control to the moment I dealt the finishing blow to Gohma. I used the GCN to do this and I also the glitch I found. The version I downloaded has you finishing the Tree in 3:24.

Can you make a video or something?  I don't get it...  :-/

I can't make a video although I could probably explain it better. After you have done the trick in this video , and you have landed on the upper platform with the web and the block, walk to the web without going to the block. You won't be able to walk on top of the web because the sword glitch that is still active will stop you. While on the edge of the web and facing towards the hole you press B to do a sword slash which will move you forwards. You will then fall through the web as if it weren't there and you will grab onto the edge. Then just fall down into the room below. So if you do this, you won't have had to break the web at all.

Edit: Okay, I tried the glitch on my N64 and it works there too so it is not just some problem with my GCN. I tried to find out what causes the glitch to work or not work but couldn't find anything. I'll look into it somemore and see if I can find anything.
Zelda Scientist®
hmmmmm... I need to try again because it didn't stop me and I really want to do this since it sounds cool.
Speed is the key.
Umm... I tried it but I could walk around on the web with the sword glitch active... tell me if I'm missing something here.

Also, would this work on the first web aswell?

FIERCE, Kill a Goron?? What do you mean? Shall i get in Fire temple go there without that Suit and tenn.. get endlich sword or what do you mean?  I saw that you asks about my EMULATED run.. Well its a run on PJ64 recorded with fraps without cheats... or tools... No TAS.. If i could i would rather do it on GCN.. Also i need a good route with glitches i can.. This is the glitches i can :

Glitch into Jabu-Jabu with Jumpslash.

Gltich Gold Scale

Cucco Jump (VERY HARD)

Crouch stabs

Cross Desert (VERY HARD)

Bottom of the well with boms (EASY)

and more.. I write more wenn i remember ;)...

I might come with Segment 3 and 4 today.. But guys is it okay if i skips in Deku tree that glitch jumping on the skultula and back flip to the other side?

Oh, btw if anyone making a route for me.. I think that i will need Lens for Desert so i dont have to restart..
