Certainly useful for moving around hyrule field, but considering we need bombs it seems like it's better to use it in the 100% run more than the any%.

I think you mean low%. Any% would basically be the current run on the site (collects items that the game claims to be necessary and some extra hearts). I think that TSA's run is low% which would not get bombs, while any% would get them.

Is there any way to combine that with a regular jump off a ledge to perform a super jump that goes farther than the bomb jump?

For example, jumping acrloss the gap into the snowball tunnel in MM
give me your eyes!!!
>_< which one was that again? The castle bridge gap??
He's back!
Here it is Ganon early this took me 17 attempts to recreate as the postioning is not very forgiving for this trick but its well worth it.

o_O wow
Now, just find a way to defeat Ganondorf without the Light Arrows, and sub-2 is certain.

Good luck with that.  I've tried almost everything to beat Ganondorf without Light Arrows...

Yeah, I was going to say we'd have a better chance of like..somehow..getting into one of the barred doors before you beat Ganondorf, tricking the game into thinking you've beaten him already. (Doubtful) But someone might still figure something out.

Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
If you read what I put first, forget it, i read the previous post wrong. You all just mean beating Ganondorf, not Ganon if it were possible to skip that battle.

Yeah...somehow finding a way to glitch the game into thinking Ganondorf is defeated seems like the more plausible idea.

The Ganon battle doesn't require Light Arrows.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
...Amazing. I wonder where else that super slide trick can be used?

Bottle adventure, planting FW in Ganon's tower or a TAS doing it for entertainment sake would be the only use for this trick. Before even considering that stuff getting into Ganon's castle is far from easy and could mean a segmenter effectivley giving up on a run. I haven't glitched through the bars but I know they would almost certainly yield no reward for doing so since I'm convinced that post Ganondorf area is a completely seperate area from the rest of the game.

Indeed. I recall that someone tried levitating up to the escape bridge in Ganon's Castle and found that the supposed exit was blocked off.

Plus, the "escape" Ganon's Castle map is almost definitely a separate one from the pre-Ganondorf castle map.

There has to be a way to make this work. Angry Heck, it's another 40 minutes at stake here.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
How much time does Bottle Adventure take? I'm not terribly familiar with it, but don't you have to go back in time?

Yes, I think you do so that the necessary changes to what the B-button and C-buttons have on them take place.
So Ganon early can be done with the use of hoverboots, bombs and a shield.  Is that all?  That would mean that you can get to Ganon's without arrows, what happens if you talk to the scrub that sells arrows?  I assume it would be like trying to buy arrows from any shop, but I'm just tossing out an idea.
No the Quail is not riding the Q

I blame KD. He put a clear wall there. He will remove it when we are done with the run.

Regardless...you need a quiver. I blame KD the n00b that can somehow beat our runs. He knows...but is waiting until after the run is done to tell otherwise.

This seems pretty good TSA. You're well on your way to beating OoT even faster than 5 hours... Wink

Yeah, but Ganondorf needs light arrows. :|

Segment 3: Same time as YE: 1:23.  I probably could have saved a second if I was as close to door as he in Deku Room and didn't slightly mess up on menu toggle, but rolling all the way is definitely faster to the door, and he hesistated at the door skip.

Segment 4: Still compressing.

A few questions:
(1) How much time does it take to get the bomb bag in Dodongo's?
(2) Which other enemies besides tektites in OoT can allow one to do the super-sliding trick without explosives? What about peahats and stalchildren?
(3) Exactly how much faster is super-sliding than backwalking? Backwalking takes 57" in SamSim's route across Hyrule Field.

I'm trying to come up with a faster theoretical best route (if there is one), and so far getting the bomb bag allows one to shave off at least three minutes:

* Skipping the Silver Gauntlets as a child saves 2'00" (net)
* Skipping Bombchu Bowling saves 0'32"
* Super-sliding across Hyrule Field (exact time TBD)

But it's likely that getting the bomb bag will take more than three minutes, so that's why these questions need to be answered.
