Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I just discovered a nice text skip. In the Lost Woods, when going from the area where you play your ocarina with the Skull Kids to the Goron City warp, if you face the "arch" leading to the warp and hug the left side, you can walk in a straight line to the warp without activating the owl text.

EDIT: Here is the best method for getting from Kokiri Forest to Goron City:

Exit house.
Backflip.
Backwalk until right before ledge, then run into it and pull yourself up.
Roll to vine, climb up.
Turn around, backwalk straight ahead.
Sidehop right, angle yourself, backwalk and sidehop into arch.

Lost Woods:

Turn around.
Backwalk.
Sidehop left 8 times.
Diagonal walk left for a short time.
Backwalk into the warp.
Wow, I just started playing this (for the first time) thursday and... well...
Im Going for a 100% (-skulltulas since I missed one in deku's tree because I didnt know what they were)

I'm stuck in Lord Jabu Jabu's Belly and don't know what to do at the part where you can pick up that ruto chick.

And... Yeah... Up to this point, like all games, I have refused to use walkthroughs unless it is for extra things like heart pieces.

But I am really stumped here.

I really would be impressed so much if this run were to be completed in under 3 hours.

I know this is like totally against the normal things that happen here at SDA but one of you has to know what to do here, I don't wanna lose interest in the game.

I promise I won't ask anymore.

Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
This topic is for advanced discussion of the game. Go here:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/n64/game/197771.html

There are 20 walkthroughs for the whole game. There's even one specifically for Jabu Jabu's Belly. I wonder what these guides are for...?

This is a much better guide than any you'll find on GameFAQs:
http://www.zelda.com/ocarina/jabu_o/jabuocarina.html

Text-based guides FTL.

If you can't solve a relatively small dungeon like Jabu-Jabu without outside help, you probably won't stand a chance in the later temples, which are each at least twice the size of Jabu. And in my humble opinion, most of the fun in a puzzle-heavy game like OoT comes from figuring out what to do on your own.

Did you read my post?
I DO NOT want to use walkthroughs, as I 100% agree with your assessment of all games are more fun if beaten as naturally intended, and then making challenges within the game, and I am not very familiar with zelda games, As I have only beaten Link's awakening and Wind waker. I made it through this far without a walkthrough or any outside help, and I just DO NOT understand what to do and spent almost 20 minutes looking for an alternative.

I only use guides that specifically help me get heart pieces because I am not so good as to be able to find them on my own.

I'm sorry if I came off as angry in this post because I didn't mean to.

And also, If I spent any more time on this I would not have time for my paper mario run, and I really want to experience this game before I lose interest again.

Having completed the game so much and on different sort of challenges e.g 100%, 3 heart run and no damage run. The only fun element left is to play the game in an entirely unintentional way. By my calculations I could complete the game in 2:50 but it'll probally be closer to 2:57 since mistakes are inevitable during the Adult adventure and cost significant time which makes 1:20 for the Adult adventure seem more reasonable.

Just letting you all know I haven't attempted any segment 3/4 stuff yet (splitting Deku Tree in two, btw, as YE suggested).

I've been busy with work and had some personal issues at home I had to deal with.  But hopefully tomorrow I can resume this.  Segment 3 should be very easy to do, and thankfully this will make Segment 4 much more manageable because it is shorter.  So I defintely will be doing the block slash.
You're all losing your time guys. This run will never get finished, or any other OOT run. So, please for god's sake stop losing your time with ocarina of time because it's just a game and there are plenty of other things important to do. That's just sad, silly and pitiful.

Have a nice day!

William.
William58 do yourself a favor and shoot yourself.  You don't have authority over how people should spend there time.  I guess you must be spending your time well telling people their sad and pathetic on message boards because that really is using your time wisely until you pass out from drinking Mr. Pibb & Tide.  This is your PSA.  Angry

Apologies for the double post, and keep up the good work with Ocarina of Time, gentlemen!
sda grammar police? is this for real? rofl....
I love Zelda!
ROTFLMAO at the last several posts! And I swear this isn't spam because I'm about to mention "OoT," which absolves me of any accusations about being off-topic.  Grin

Grammar Police, I think your modify button is faulty.  Roll Eyes
Looking over segment 4, I really don't wanna be in TSA's shoes for that section. You've got something like 15 minutes of dialog before several of the hardest tricks in the run. Have you thought of splitting this up into two smaller segments?

Maybe; reaching spirit, spirit, then Lullaby + goldscale or something? Just a thought.

Where is your predicate? Judging by your comma structure, the bold statement is your independent clause, and also a sentence fragment? Wow, you sure have mastered grammar  ::).

Also, regarding double spaces before new sentences, you should realize that having a double space is correct MLA format.

It's actually Segment 5 now - and it does end with the infamous gate skip - but I can save in Gerudo Fortress I am told, so it will immensely make it easier.  Backwalking to Hyrule Castle, then getting passed the guards isn't that hard.  Then after more dialogue, I get to backwalk to Gerudo Valley, and then perform the hardest trick in the game.

We wouldn't want Mr Nolan Pflug knowing our IP address, would we now?
The original leever.
Well, good luck with that, and remeber if you get too frustated we would prefer a break to a bad run.
Nintendo 64 enthusiast
SDA Grammar Police is quite the comic-... grammical mastermind if I do say so myself.

Uh. And yeah. TSA. Good luck on the hardest trick and beyond.

Wait, no! You can save in Thieves' Hideout, but saving in Gerudo's Fortress will put you back at Link's house. Just wanted to save you the trouble of spending hours working on the segment and then realizing that it didn't count. <.<

What the hell is Thieve's Hideout?

Edit: Do you mean you can't save inside the Gerudo's Fortress - inside the building?

Speed is the key.

I'm pretty sure he means the dungeon with multiple exit where you free the carpenters. I'm not sure if you can save in there and restart there later.

I am sure, tough, that you can save in the Gerudo Training ground (and restart there). But it's closed as a child, I think.
