It's a pity some of these tricks are mutually exclusive. A lot of them, actually. We should convince Radix to let us put up an extra segment with just a montage of all these tricks with descriptions and discoverers, because some of them are too cool to let go.
And funny random stuff like total flop and ruto no. And the crazy boost in the sacred forest meadow if it doesn't get included.
That one guys YouTube account is full of them, isn't it? I think it's pretty good there.
Yeah, but more exposure would be found on the site; and besides, almost all the tricksters around here (all like 5 of them) have YouTube accounts with stuff. It's hard to sift through.
TSA: Good Luck. Looking forward to seeing it improved; the current version looks a lot sloppier than it really is.

I was making a big video directory, but it'll be postponed until summer or next weekend. Big final stuff, ya know. Stuff that I should probably be doing right now. <_<
I was thinking about waiting until after the TAS is finished. The entire run will be converted to .avi and you can then simply extract all the relevant portions.
But for now, the YouTube videos are spread across these accounts: Mitjitsu YautjaElder PyRoTHPS Kazooie Acryte
If you want, all that has to be done is to have a thread in general chat where you have the 1st few posts get updated and just put up links to the tricks off youtube.
Yautja - good stuff. That's one more thing that makes having bombs useful and makes them save more time. Which is great.
TSA - the current youtube video for deku tree doesn't show the fastest way for the jumpslash... do you plan on landing on the switch? It appears that is was forgotten in the TAS as well... secondly, that is one beast of a dungeon and I hope you do well. (secondly, which tricks will we probably not see?... water platform message skip?) all the others are fairly simple except for that platform message skip. Also as a note for the final version of the TAS, we should let him know that against the deku scrub, you can hit the nut and then backrun alongside him all the way across the room to the door. Then as soon as you get there you talk to him and can instantly open the door as soon as possible, which is great... and you also get to backrun across the entire room which makes it faster.

You mean landing on the switch exactly? In the TAS, he misses the switch by an inch and quickly steps on it...still room for improvement?

indeed. I will upload vids of those (dont have a vid of the backrun though. I should make 1 soon). Also, I tested the 2 routes from mido and have concluded that the central path is faster by approximately 10 frames aka 1/6 of a second (though it is slightly harder). Will upload those as well.
Nah, savewarp (w/out menulag) is definitely faster. Im talking about when exiting the shop and going to Mido.
Route#1:
Route#2:
Vinewall Double Jumpslash (2 switch):
MWL - nah... well, maybe... w/ a properly timed sidehop. WAIT! what is the point? Youll probably talk to her when you exit the shop. *_*. The only possible other way would be to glitch it. I tried to have it so I read the sign at the moment it pops up... like maybe it could have them freak out nd i get neither, or it just gets rid of the oter but it didn't come through. He reads the sign, then gets caught w/ the message. IT DOES HOWEVER MAKE IT SO YOU CAN'T READ THE SIGN!!!! lol, that is pointless.
So far, no. I'll try my best to land on the switch in the Deku Tree, but landing right next to it should be good, too. What's so hard about the platform text skip? Frame perfect input?
Then why wouldn't it be possible? Or is it just hard? I think I got the Segment 2 down now..sidehop seven times from Link's house, backwalk to wall, side hop twice, backflip, adjust angle, backwalk and backflip over fences.
Boulder route I did, but align for last blue rupee.
Exiting, backwalk to bushes. When reaching the platforms, roll jump.
Jump slash to middle platform, jump to Mido (it is faster than any other way I've seen, test it in a TAS, and you're lined up now.
Backwalk to edge. Side hop three times, slash. Walk forward, slash. Get deku stick, back walk to 2nd stick. Side hop twice. Slash. Get final stick and back walk. Cut scene. Backwalk.
I was actually thinking of a way to bypass King Zora without the bottle and I've come to the conlusion that it'll involve a boundary violation. If it was possible to glitch through one of the walls at the bottom of the domain and swim under the water, then it would be possible to swim up the waterfall and underneath King Zora and be placed on the other side of him once Link rises to the surface. The big problem is that I'm 95% sure that he'll never be bypassed when coming back from the domain which means savewarp straight after would be needed. Someone should look into at some point.
Edit: Urgent update. After checking out the area below Waterfall in ZD, I noticed that it might be possible to glitch through the ladder into the uber water environment. After a frustrating number of attempts I managed to backflip and grab onto the edge of the ladder/ledge and partially glitch throught the wall, the problem was that link only grabed with one hand and was facing the wrong way. Someone need to find a way to grap to the top edge of the ladder with two hands while partially glitching through the wall. :-[
All I needed was a video, and that was because I didn't understand it (your description was really vague, Acryte, and your method of doing it was really bizarre too :P).
I can do it 9 out of 10 and I've never been good at timing. Someone like TSA should have absolutely no problem with it.
My description:
Enter, sidehop left (easiest way to keep looking straight ahead), walk forward, turn around, watch the platform come, then Z/L and backflip.
I find it useful not to walk as far forward as you can go, because when I backflip I seem to move a bit backward still. But this is probably because I can't handle a controller well enough (yet, I hope).
I've been practicing backwalking and backflipping immediately after the sidehop, so that you can get a deku stick in the time you'd normally be waiting for the platform, but so far I've been unsuccessful.
Yautja - cool maze skip, I've tried it on first ledge long time ago but it doest'n works and now you have fiqured out that other wall is crabable, good
BTW, about the maze skip. If you set up the ground jump upon entering the Sacred Forest meadow, you can skip the text that navi says. Also, you can just walk up to the wall and grab the ledge. The moblin won't be able to get you once you've grabbed the ledge.

You can do the text skip with a backflip, TSA did that in his 4:57 run.
Edit: Someone should test how much time the vine text skip saves (if any at all, might actually be slower) before TSA starts to work on segment 3.
