I checked your record for Ocarina of Time and there was no low % record. Would this record be acceptable? Has anybody submitted this before? If so, why isn't it shown?
Edit: I need to mention: the Low % wouldn't contain any major skipping. For example: Gohma Teleport -> Ganon's Tower
Thread title:
What is low% considered for this game?

I forgot to include that, too. How low % can you go without major skips like I mentioned in my edit?

A quick research on Zeldaspeedruns.com showed a Low-% MST route is posted there. With that, I see no reason, why SDA would not allow a low-% category along these lines. The item list looks short enough imho, too.
However this discussion would technically belong into the OoT thread in the older consoles subforum (if that's the wrong OoT-thread, please be free to correct me).

I don't believe anyone ever submitted low-% for OoT, because there is no mention of the category in the low/100 % definitions collection thread. I can also positively say that none have been submitted posted since YautjaElder's 100 %.
No one runs low% because it's almost identical to any%, just that you skip one of deku stick and kokiri sword (I forget which) and use the other instead. Not very exciting, no new tricks. It's not like Metroid Fusion 0% vs 1% where 0% requires an insanely hard trick.

Categories like low% mst, low% all dungeons, low% no rba/ww, low% master quest mst/all dungeons/no rba/ww etc are more interesting, because there's enough of the game left that creative solutions are required to skip items. http://twitch.tv/adarax is I believe the WR holder for low% MST.
I just started speed running...I just need something relatively short.
Oh, I just realized that you were using low% wrong.
low% means acquiring as little equipment/powerups/pickups as possible in a game like OoT or super metroid.
What you mean is 'no major skips' or maybe 'glitchless'.
the equivalent of 'no major skips' for ocarina of time is... hmm. What would it be? You'd ban WW, obviously, and probably also RBA. So do you want to run no RBA/WW (which is a popular category and has a route)?
There's also 'glitchless' for ocarina of time which is about 4 hours long and mostly run in the japanese/nicovideo community. It has a good WR and a route too.

Quote from the OoT game page:
Note: The tricks that qualify as large-skip glitches are: Bottle Adventure; Reverse Bottle Adventure; skipping the stones and medallions; and skipping Ganon's castle trials.

So I believe most of the categories you, Patashu, mentioned, would boil down to "low-% no large-skip glitches"
Also, this has gotten me curious as to which large-skip glitch YautjaElder used in the day for his run. Did he not do the trials?

You do bring up a valid point about low-% large-skip glitches.

Ok yeah, in that case no large skips would be MST. (And low% no large skips would be low% MST.) (I take it using a WW is ok if it's not used to do a large skip, as all the WWs in modern MST are for example.) If you 'need something relatively short' I wouldn't recommend staring with MST, it's ~3 hours.
With the route I have in mind, it would be all Major skips.
1 - Escape Forest w/o Kokiri Sword or Deku Shield
2 - Collect 10 Bombchus
3 - Door of Time Skip
4 - Reverse Door of Time Skip
5 - Hover to Ganon's Castle (Skipping ALL Medallions except for Light)
6 - Trial Skip
7 - Defeat Ganondorf + Ganon

Is this route even possible? I don't see anything wrong with it except the glitches may be tough to get down. I am a beginning speed-runner so I will need a LOT of practice.

It's not possible.
You can do 5

but you can't do 7 because you have no light arrows, ganondorf's only weakness. Remember, all any% routes used to include light arrows until ganonless WW, then later ganondoor was discovered, both of which skipped the ganondorf fight. If you can't WW you have to get light arrows, and if you need light arrows you need shadow/spirit to trigger the cutscene (if there was a faster way to get light arrows than seeing that long cutscene everyone would do it in bingo ^^)

It's not likely you'll discover some insane, cool new route if you haven't learned the game yet, so I'd suggest you start with a pre-existing short category with a well fleshed out route like any%, ganonless, no ww or no rba/no ww.

Right, right, the light arrows...HOW COULD I FORGET THE LIGHT ARROWS?

Well all I need to do is do the wrong warp at Gohma's teleport as an adult.

Why go adult then?

True...I guess I just need to escape for the bottle.

Worthless categories WR master
At this point it's simply any% skipping the deku sticks.
