Did you mean Boomerang? Just wondering.

I definitely meant boomerang Smiley Thanks for catching that.

Longshot can easily miss, even when Z targeting, I'd say it misses 95% of the time.
And they can easily block Deku Nuts or Arrows, unless you wait until they're getting ready for a jump attack.

But the boomerang always hits, always stuns, and gives you plenty of time to power crouch stab (deku stick jump slash before fight)

Runnerguy, that Iron Knuckle fight was 95% as perfect as the TAS. Awesome!

I'm curious... what's the attack power of the quickspin? Is it similar to PCS in effect or is it a fixed amount?

I would do the jumpslash trials skip over the bomb staircase one, even if it's 5-10 seconds slower. risk/reward again...

What?  The bomb staircase is easy.  I mess it up maybe 1/20, and even if you get it on your 3rd try you can still be as fast as the armos clip.
Hey guys. I've about had it with Twilight Princess and feel I can't find much more in the game at this point. So now I'm really considering looking for stuff in OoT. I have the OoT GCN disc version. I have a MAJOR hurdle to get over...I haven't played the game in over 5 years and haven't ever tried any of the speed tricks/glitches/sequence breaks.

I know this will be a huge undertaking, but I'm patient and willing to put in the effort. And I never stop looking for stuff in a game until it comes to a point where I think I can't ever find much of anything anymore (which is what happened with Twilight Princess). What motivates me most about OoT now is that it seemingly has an endless supply of glitches/tricks to be found.

Right now, I think what I'll do is play the game the 'normal' way a few times just so I can get a feel for where everything is again. Then once I get that done, I can start attempting to pull off glitches/tricks/sequence breaks and practice a lot to get a feel for it. Is that the best way to go about this?

Also, realistically, with a big noob like me not knowing much, how long should I expect this to take me before I finally get the hang of all the tricks? I know this will be overwhelming to me at first, but I'm willing to take several months to get the hang of everything if need be.

I'm a noob at glitching in ANY game, and I'm getting the hang of a few things like ground jumps, ISG, OI, etc. after only a week or two, so I think you may get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Other stuff I'm having trouble with may be because I'm using a keyboard, but I'll find out in a couple days Smiley

Good luck with whatever you attempt. 8)

Thanks. I'll play the game the normal way first a few times (I don't even remember where anything is now lol), then start attempting the glitches/tricks.
If you want to play through for familiarity, I recommend doing 100% at least a few times. Some things that you might not need, you might still need to know where they are if they make it quicker.

And might want to keep track of which bushes and which pots yield which objects; that can come in handy.

Cucco Bottle: OIing, Volvagia (Fairy in the Bottle), Water Trail (can be skipped if we get hookshot)
Bow and Quiver: better than Gold Scale and Ruto's Letter.
Deku Nut: Queen Gohma, better than Slingshot and Bullet Bag.
Boomerang: Barnicade (Jabu-Jabu Boss).
Fire Arrow: Forest Trail
Megaton Hammer: Volvagia (Fire Temple Boss)
Goron Tunic: Fire Trail (can be replaced with Longshot), Helps with Volvagia

Gold Gauntlets: Fire Trail.
Minuet of Forest: Currently unskippable in MST.
6 Medallions and 3 Stones: Needed for MST.

NOTE: You can Chu Bowl for an extra 10 chus at any of the chu bowling parts to try and make the last time a little easier.

Things this run needs:
Ruppee route (300 rupees worth)

6. Save

Then you have the two you need for King Dodongo as well as three more.

And if you want to get the bugs before the well, you can OI to lower the water and do the skulltula clip to get bombchus, but all that effort only saves one bombchu, so I don't know if it would be worth it. <- requires Zelda's Lullaby

But I definitely suggest doing the lost woods warp instead of the Letter skip.

Usually if I post a route I am in the IRC talking about it and it won't be done for at least an hour so bare with it.

I think its done.
I assume if you get a mask and get rid of it, it would still count, and likewise wouldn't overwrite counting Zelda's Letter in the percent?
Quote from InsomPsycho:

True, but I don't see how it would effect the percent. Oh and all trade items count as a separate item this is important because Cucco Egg and Cucco are 2 different items.
I just made my rupee run waaay quicker. I'm now getting only 20 rupees.

I don't need a deku stick until BotW, and I can get it there.

I don't need a shield until DC, and I can get it in the BotW from a chest.

^ Not to mention I will have to pick up a deku shield one way or another; it will either get burned or swallowed. So now I'm saving all the time it takes to get 40 rupees, as well as having to sit through the text twice.

So I'll get the 10 rupees in Mido's house, and the 5 over the water, and the 5 in the shop. (just cause it's fast)

Then I'll go get thw sword, along with the 10 rupees in there; then I can do the forest escape as soon as I get out. Absolutely no backtracking; saves a LOT of time, and I have 15 rupees when I leave the forest. The drawbridge will give me more than enough for the fishing, and then I can even buy more deku nuts, with a quicker text, from the bazaar.

the only thing is that there's so many glitches around that sometimes a few get forgotten over time and then rediscovered. don't be discouraged if you find something that then someone claims to be known already.

I actually have that one in my favorites. Tongue I've seen a lot of stuff on youtube and have come on this forum looking over several pages. I just have yet to try any of this stuff myself. It will be awhile before I attempt these glitches/tricks since I'm playing the game normally and just getting a feel for the game again. I guess the reason I'm playing the game normally is to relearn the layout of everything. I feel that is probably necessary, especially once I finally get to the point where I do decide to do tricks. Like superslide, I should really know the layout of everything in the game before I attempt it. Going backwards with superslide without knowing where the heck I'm going is a little too chaotic lol. Same goes for bomb hover. I should know the game layout really well before I try something like that. I could probably try and do a superslide that doesn't last long at all, or a bomb hover just for practice purposes, but for me, I seem to focus on stuff much better once I understand the layout of the game first. So hopefully in 3 months (or less if possible), I will know the layout of everything and have done most of the tricks/glitches (well maybe not all...the ones that matter) that have been found. Then after that I will start looking for new stuff.

edit: I also need to learn all the abbreviations of everthing. I know RBA = reverse bottle adventure. ISG = infinite sword glitch. DC = Dodongo's Cavern?

PCS = power crouch stab
MST = medallions, stones, trials

ESS/ISS = Infinite Superslide. I think the E stands for Extended.
HESS/HISS = Hyperspeed " "

I might need correcting on the last two.

And then of course you've got things like DC, BotW, JJB, DMT, DMC, GTG, HW, GF, SFM, FW, ToT, DoT, OoT, SoT, which are just abbreviations of things already mentioned in the game.
Dodongo's Cavern (possibly Desert Colossus, although I haven't seen it used for this)
Bottom of the Well
Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Death Mountain Trail
Death Mountain Crater
Gerudo Training Ground
Haunted Wasteland
Gerudo Fortress
Sacred Forest Meadow
Farore's Wind
Temple of Time
Door of Time
Ocarina of Time
Song of Time

I believe that's all of the commonly used ones.

Really? No OoTers are ever on when I'm on IRC. I guess living in Western Australia doesn't really help.
Does anyone know any way to get FULLY out of bounds in ganons tower? I really want to find out if the triggers are there for entering and leaving the actual tower.

And also, do you have to download IRC or is there somewhere that you can just go like a web link to chat it up.
you can download a client like mIRC or you can go to a website like Mibbit.
Do you know the full link so i could just use that? Post it here please lol
